Student housing in the West Village area.
Why live on campus? You'll meet new people, discover new ideas and ways of thinking, and
expand your horizons. You’ll join a community of students who enjoy living near the academic,
social, athletic and cultural events that take place on campus every day.
All Towson students — residents and commuters alike — can choose from 17 dining locations
on campus, including full-service all-you-care-to-eat facilities, grab-and-go options and
convenience stores. No matter what time of day or night, you can find something good to eat.
Residence Halls
Towson offers 15 residence halls on campus that represent an eclectic mix of old and new
architecture. The buildings range from cozy two- and three-story halls to high-rise towers. If you
are a new freshman, we guarantee on-campus housing for your first two years at Towson.
Modern amenities make your new home a great place to live and learn. Rooms are equipped with
cable TV, high-speed Internet service, and a microwave-refrigerator unit. All rooms are
furnished with beds, desks, chairs, closets or wardrobes, dressers, wall-to-wall carpeting, and
blinds. In-house laundry facilities, lounges, study rooms and vending areas are located in each
hall. Pool tables, TV rooms, and even pianos are available in many halls.
Our residence halls are staffed by Resident Assistants (RAs) -- specially trained students who
work to build a floor-wide community with planned activities and outings. They also offer
insider knowledge on how to make your Towson experience more successful. So whether you
need help with a problem or just want to hang out, their doors are always open.
On-campus Apartments
Towson Run Apartments are for upper-class students (including transfer students) who are
eligible to live on campus. This apartment community is a great way to stay connected with the
campus and enjoy the benefits and independence of apartment living.
Towson Run offers many of the same amenities as our residence halls, but with a few extras. The
complex offers nine-month housing and consists of one-bedroom, two-bedroom and fourbedroom apartments equipped with full kitchens and common living rooms.
First-time freshmen are not eligible to live in Towson Run.
For Transfer Students
On-campus housing isn't guaranteed for transfer students and is granted on a space-available
basis. Many transfer students instead live in off-campus housing, which includes many
apartments and rental homes within a short walk of the university and throughout Towson.
Off-campus housing is not affiliated with the university, but TU' maintains resources for finding
off-campus housing.
For International Students
International students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of opportunities to live on
campus. It’s a great way to make friends and feel connected to our vibrant campus culture.
Off-Campus Housing
In addition to the thousands of students who live on campus, many thousands more
— especially juniors and seniors — choose to live just beyond Towson University’s borders at
one of the many nearby off-campus housing properties. These housing options, which include
apartments and townhomes, are not affiliated with Towson University but still offer a great
option for students who wish to live near the excitement and resources of our campus
community.
The Department of Off Campus Student Services maintains off-campus housing listings for
students seeking a place to live.
Dining
What’s on the menu tonight? Sushi? Pizza? Fajitas? Try all of the above. With 17 dining options
on campus, you’ll never have trouble finding something that suits your taste. In fact, you might
have trouble finding something that doesn’t.
Towson offers three all-you-care-to-eat facilities at The Glen, Newell Dining Hall and West
Village Commons. Our diverse menus offer traditional choices, ethnic and international cuisine,
and a wealth of vegetarian and low-fat options, too. We also offer kosher and halal menus.
When you just need a quick break, consider a coffee at our on-campus Starbucks, where the
conversation flows as freely as the caffeine. Want to grab a bite before that mid-term or after a
trip to the gym? Stop by Chik-fil-A or Jamba Juice — both located right on campus. Or stock up
on a few snacks at one of our convenience stores. Go ahead and eat up — it’s all included in the
Towson meal plan.
Want even more options? You’ll find Thai, Japanese, Italian, American and many more types of
cuisine right in the town of Towson, just a short walk from campus. And for those late-night
cravings, many restaurants deliver right to your residence hall or apartment.
