Abnormal Psychology Skit
We will be performing skits in class to demonstrate different therapy styles. Each skit will have three people: 1 patient,
1 therapist, and 1 narrator. You will be assigned a disorder AND a therapy style. You should research BOTH using the
DSM-IV website listed below, your book (page numbers noted), and the internet.
The patient should demonstrate at least three criteria for the disorder. The therapist should do his/her best to accurately
portray the therapy style. The narrator will: 1) tell us the name of the disorder and type of therapy (explain the goals and
underlying assumptions of the therapy) BEFORE THE SKIT and 2) point out how patient specifically exhibited
symptoms of the disease and how therapist attempted to meet his/her goals (AFTER THE SKIT).
