The overall purpose of your club
Committee member positions
Number of member meetings held during the year
The activities, programmes, tournaments, events your club has been involved in
Supporting documentation such as photos which demonstrate your involvement in
campus activities
A statement on how your club has enhanced the student life and overall spirit on
campus.
Guidelines for Individuals:
Your application form should include the following information:






Your position, role or title and the club you are involved in (if applicable)
Length of service with the particular club (if applicable)
A summary of your most significant achievements/contributions
Examples of the leadership, dedication and service you have shown
Examples of the events, activities, programmes, that you have been involved in
throughout the year
A statement on how your achievements have contributed to student life

Student City Arts and Culture Awards Criteria
The following is a list of guidelines to be used by the Student City Arts and Culture Awards selection
panel for selecting award recipients. These standards should also be used to guide students, clubs
and societies when completing applications. Reaching these standards does not automatically ensure
the recommendation of a Student City Arts and Culture Award. Awards will be presented at the
selection panel’s sole discretion to maintain the integrity and high standard of the awards.
1. Emerging Artist Award
This award recognises fresh new artistic talent. The award is given to an artist who has recently
become involved in the arts and shows the greatest potential for future success.
2. Outstanding Contribution to the arts
This award recognises those who have demonstrated ongoing, sustained contribution to the arts.
Their contribution towards the arts has added value to both the arts community and the wider
Manawatu area.
3. Outstanding achievement in the arts
This award recognises students who have demonstrated excellence and distinction in a particular
work. This could be an outstanding short story, a photograph, or a performance for example.
4. Artist of the Year
This award is given to an artist who has made outstanding achievements in 2010 and whose
achievements have enhanced student arts in Palmerston North.
5. Outstanding contribution to student arts from a non-student
This award recognises those who have shown continued service and support to student arts,
contributing to the on-going benefit of students and the arts community.
6. Clubs and Societies Outstanding Contribution Award
For a student who displays outstanding contribution to a club or society. This student has showed
continued commitment to support, manage or develop a club. Their involvement as a member, a
committee member, a mentor, or a coach has positively impacted the club and its members.
7. Student Service Award
This award recognises students who have contributed to student life on campus through leadership,
service and mentoring. The award recognises students who have been involved in campus activities,
encouraged student interaction and supported their peers.
8. Club of the Year
This award recognises a club who has made outstanding achievements in 2010 to enhance the
campus spirit and overall student experience. The club not only has a positive impact on its members
and wider student population but is financially stable, continues to grow its membership and is actively
represented on campus.
9. Campus Spirit Award
This award recognises a person or club who is well known on campus, and whose involvement in
extracurricular activities has helped to enhance the vibrancy and overall student experience on
campus. This award is given to a person or club who works collectively with others to create a more
inclusive campus community.
10. Most Promising Club
Awarded to a club who shows the most potential to develop, grow and sustain into the future. The club
may be large or small, diverse or mainstream, have recently implemented a new initiative to the
benefit of its members, hosted a successful event, carried out successful fundraising initiatives or had
a great first year of operation.
11. People’s Choice Award
This award is given to the club who receives the most student votes and is deemed by students to be
the best club on campus.
