Description:

The Compassionate Depossession Teacher Training is a training that prepares and supports those teacher/practitioners who are interested and feel called to teach Compassionate Depossession. This course includes two residential training modules that will be held as in-person gatherings at Still Meadow

Retreat in Clackamas, Oregon near Portland. The other modules will be webinars held between the two in-person meeting times and after the second residential course ends. Additional webinars will be offered after the entire course is completed for continuing education and commentary. Homework and projects will be given to be completed during the interval between the in-person residential meetings. Practitioners will practice depossession on clients in the interim between class meetings and present case studies.

Practitioners will also make presentations on various aspects of depossession in class and in webinars.

The goal of this training is to prepare teachers and practitioners to teach Compassionate Depossession with safety, ease, grace and integrity in a compassionate manner. A secondary goal is to integrate a network of teachers who support each other and carry this valuable work forward.

Residential Part One: June 4-9, 2013

For the preparation of teachers, the course will include work on the cosmology of death and the afterlife as experienced by different cultures, psychopomp language and landscape, the compassionate beings involved, safety as a teacher, safety for the class participants including the suffering beings, containment of the class participants and the circle. Initiations to open and attune teachers to connections with a wide array of helping allies and healing resonances will be experienced. A review of

Compassionate Depossession technique and practices with demonstrations will be included. Goals for successfully teaching and holding space will be advanced.

Webinar Part One: September 30, 2013

Case studies of depossession work will be presented by students with commentary given as feedback.

Additional case studies will be offered by the instructor with commentaries to be given by the students.

Teaching homework will be given and written up. A question and answer period will end the webinar.

Webinar Part Two: January 11, 2014

Short presentations will be shared by students about their teaching experiences. We will have a presentation on various aspects of complex possession illness cases with question and answers.

Teaching homework will be given to be presented at the next residential meeting.

Residential Part Two:

March 18-24, 2014

Review of Compassionate Depossession will begin the module. Students will demonstrate, on a daily basis, the containment and safety aspects required for safe teaching.

Further initiations will be experienced to deepen the connection of practitioners for the purpose of enriching and holding the container of the class and person of the teacher in the presence of complex possession and heavy suffering beings. A session of “trouble-shooting” for personal questions and issues will be held. Practical demonstrations of compassionate depossession will be held by the students with constructive commentary offered by the class and instructor. Practical demonstrations of teaching will be conducted by students.

A discussion of ethics, responsibility and expanded views of the landscape of psychopomp and depossession work will be held. Homework will be given and will include teaching a depossession training. Further initiations for deepening trust and connection will be held.

Webinar Part Three: June 21, 2014

Follow-up and presentations will be offered by the practitioners about aspects of the depossession class they will have taught. Commentaries, and congratulations will be offered! A question and answer session will follow. We will discuss the needs of the teachers for ongoing connection and discussion to aid in the furtherance of their teaching.

Because of the nature of this work, this is a residential only training.

Prerequisite: To attend this training, you must have completed 2-3 courses (depending on intensive or nonintensive classes) in Compassionate Depossession taught by Betsy Bergstrom. Several opportunities to achieve these class requirements will be offered before this training begins in June of 2013.

Compassionate Depossession Training with Betsy Bergstrom experience is required. Where and when did you train and what was the format of the training?

Cancellation Policy:

Before March 1, 2013 a refund of 100.00 of the 200.00 deposit will be returned if you cancel. After March 1, 2013, no refund of deposit will be given. Any tuition and lodging cancellations after May 10, 2013 will receive only a partial refund if full payment had been paid. We require this in order to meet our obligations to the retreat center.

About the Retreat Center:

Still Meadow in Clackamas, Oregon is a wonderful, intentionally designed retreat center that delights in hosting spiritual workshops and retreats. It is located on 60 acres of land with old growth forest, trails through the woods, a labyrinth and sauna in the forest. The hall where sessions are held was designed using sacred geometry. It is especially powerful and conducive for journeying and sacred ceremony. Rooms are generally double shared rooms with shared bathrooms.

Dietary Concerns:

The retreat center has beautiful food prepared with care and love. They are able to offer some dietary concessions for those with dietary issues. Please let us know if you have any of these dietary classifications. There are on site kitchens available as well for participants with extreme dietary needs.

Workshop Times:

Arrival time on June 4, 2013 is 4:00 pm. The workshop begins Tuesday evening June 4, 2013 at 6:00 pm with dinner and an evening session and concludes Sunday at 12:00 with lunch following. There will be evening sessions on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.
