In the name of integrated disaster management; to increase
public awareness of risks, to support people to create neighborhood disaster
management, to increase the cooperation between the neighborhood volunteers and
state units, and to protect neigborhood families against disasters.
13. Vision statement: Neighborhood Disaster Volunteers Foundation is aware that most
parts of our country live with a high risk of natural disaster, mainly earthquakes. Due
to the charity’s limited resources, the main operation territory is limited with the
Marmara region for now.
Knowing the significance of Istanbul for the whole Turkey, the foundation carefully
manages integration projects, mainly
Neighborhood Disaster Volunteers. In this
context, the foundation’s primary aim is to provide education and cooperation for the
neighborhoods wich have high risks in Istanbul.

In the extend of Neighborhood Disaster Volunteers Project, Neighborhood Disaster
Volunteer education has been given and Neighborhood Disaster Support Centers have
established in 63 neighborhood for 2699 people (in Kocaeli, İstanbul, Yalova and
İzmir). The 36 hour (4-5 weeks) education takes place every year in 25 neighborhoods.
