CORRESPONDENCE –
 Letter from Peter Rumgay – New Chair of the Pier Group outlining their new mandate and
direction
PRESIDENT’S REPORT – Trish Doney
 Port Hope Fair - The ACO booth at the Port Hope Fall Fair was another success this year. There
was good interest in what we do and many copies of the House Tour card, membership form
and ACO Matters were picked up. Sales of hasti-notes, walking tour booklets and the like earned
us $115.00 which was given to Dennis for deposit. One package of the ABC cards was sold ($20),
the proceeds from which were turned over to Joan Tooke. Thanks to Peter Kedwell for
coordinating this event for us.
 Evenings – Patsy Beeson and her committee ran another successful “Evening” event on Saturday
September 7th in the afternoon. These events are proving very popular for many of our
members.
 HPH Meeting – held September 19th. Meeting was hosted by ACO and thanks to Susan
Carmichael who took minutes. Both parties agreed that it was important to keep lines of
communication open. Meetings will be held every 6 months unless a need arises to meet at an
earlier time.
 House Tour – next big event this coming Saturday



ACO Central Awards - more information and photos were required for all our nominations which
were submitted for two of the nominations. After speaking with Rod Stewart nomination for the
Barrett Street buildings was withdrawn.
Architectural Terms booklet – Rod Stewart approached me about reprinting the Architectural
Terms booklet at his expense. We now have 1,000 booklets free of charge.
Nominating Committee – will be headed up by Charles Wickett and me. Current Executive
(Board) members will be contacted regarding their intentions for 2014-5. The next Newsletter
will ask members to contact the Nominating Committee if they are interested in sitting on the
Executive (Board).
TREASURER’S REPORT – Dennis Hogarth
 A short report was provided to the Board ( does not reflect proceeds from Garden Tour)
 ACO – Cash - $96,177.
 Heritage Trust - $88,495. Plus Mortgage Receivables of $39.473.
