This contract for STALLION SERVICE is made and entered into on this date _____/______/______ by
and between __________________________________ hereinafter designated Purchaser, and Karen
Stopek, owner and trainer of STOPEK STABLES hereinafter designated Stallion Owner. Stallion owner
agrees to breed the Trakehner stallion Prelude By Mozart Reg.# GRB-1S-1527 & CTHS Reg.#665 to
the mare ________________ Reg.#__________________, subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. A non-refundable Booking Fee of $250.00 is payable with execution of this contract.
2. A Breeding Fee of $1000.00 is due in full prior to breeding of the mare. The Breeding Fee
includes a Live Foal Guarantee. A live foal is one that stands and nurses without help. If
mare does not produce a live foal, or if mare does not settle, Purchaser must provide a
veterinarian’s statement confirming such. Stallion owner will re-breed the mare during the
current breeding season or the following year’s breeding season. If mare does not settle the
second year, Stallion Owner will accept a replacement mare.
3. A $50 Collection Fee is due each time the stallion must be collected for breeding to above
mare.
4. THE PURCHASER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:
 All veterinary, farrier, and mare care fees. Mare care is $8.50 per day for pasture,
and $12.00 per day for stall (dry) and $15.00 per day (wet).
 Providing a healthy mare in sound breeding condition, as determined by a
veterinarian. The mare’s immunizations for equine rhinopneumonitis (equine herpes
type 1) must be kept current. The mare must be dewormed at least four times per
year. A current uterine culture must be taken prior to breeding (with acceptable
results).
5. No mare will be removed from Stopek Stables unless all fees and costs are paid in full. The
purchaser hereby gives Stallion Owner permission to act as agent in an emergency situation
if the Purchaser cannot be reached in a timely fashion. The Purchaser hereby releases
Stallion Owner from any responsibility or liability for any disease, injury or accident to the
Mare or accompanying foal resulting from any negligence.
6. If, prior to settling the mare, the stallion should die, be sold, or become unfit for breeding,
$1000.00 of the Breeding Fee (if it has been paid in full) will be refunded, thereby canceling
this contract. Should the mare die or become unfit to be bred, Stallion Owner will breed
stallion to a substitute mare of the Purchaser’s choice.
7. This Contract is non-assignable and non-transferable except as stated above. This Contract
is entered into in the State of Iowa and shall be interpreted and enforced under the laws of
this State. If any clause is against State Law, that individual clause shall be null and void.
8. Should either party breach this contract, the breaching party shall pay for the other’s court
costs and attorney’s fees related to such breach.
9. This contract represents the entire agreement between the parties. No other agreement or
promises, verbal or implied, are included unless specifically stated in this written Contract.
(Additional agreements should be individually initialed by each party.)
When Stallion Owner and Purchaser sign this Contract, it will be binding on both parties, subject to the
above terms and conditions.
