8th Grade N.C Mountains Field Trip
On Tuesday, April 26 through Wednesday, April 27, the eighth graders will have the opportunity to travel to
the mountains of North Carolina. Specifically we will be going to Linville Caverns, Emerald Village, The
Blowing Rock and Grandfather Mountain. Teachers have provided cross-curricular activities for the students
throughout the year in preparation for this trip. We will depart at 6:00 a.m. from Jones Middle School.
Please have your child to school by 5:30 a.m. Due to time for travel and a reservation time at Linville Cavern,
if your child is late for the buses they will miss the field trip. We will be returning to JMS between 9:00 pm
and 10:00 pm. The price for the adventure to the mountains is $175, which covers the traveling cost (via
Coach Buses), overnight stay, dinner and bowling on Tuesday and admission to all attractions. The students
will eat a picnic lunch; either brought from home or from the cafeteria; and they will need spending money for
a fast food dinner plus any purchases from the various gift shops.
Please make field trip checks payable to Jones Middle School
Payments can be made toward the trip, but the full amount of $175 is due by March 18.
