Executive Biography
Friedrich Angerbauer
Senior Vice President, Support Function Purchasing,
Member of the Management Board, Chassis & Safety Division
Friedrich Angerbauer was born in Ingolstadt, Germany, in 1964. He completed a study
as certified electrical engineer and a further qualification in the field of business
administration.
Angerbauer started his professional career in 1985, at Temic, a manufacturer of
microelectronic components, in Ingolstadt, Germany. He stayed with the company until
1996, working in various functions in industrial engineering, including as Project
Manager Industrialization and in testing technology. In 1997, he moved to the
company’s Nuremberg, Germany, location to take on the position of Technical Manager
Process Engineering; then, in 1999, he returned to Ingolstadt, Germany, as the
Production Manager for the Body and Chassis Electronics segment.
In 2000, he was tasked with building up a new electronics plant for Temic in Shanghai,
China. Up until 2005 – Temic had been taken over by Continental AG in the meantime –
the plant, with 150 employees, earned sales of about 30 million euros under
Angerbauer’s leadership. After this successful project, he worked as Managing Director
at Hella Electronics, also in Shanghai, China, in 2005 and 2006, before returning to
Continental for another management position, this time as head of the Electronic Brake
Systems (EBS) Business Unit in China, also based in Shanghai. From 2009 to 2011, he
headed the EBS Business Unit Asia, based in Yokohama, Japan, where he was directly
responsible for managing about 400 employees and for sales of approximately 550
million euros.
In July 2011, he took over the responsibility for operations and purchasing within the
Passive Safety & ADAS Business Unit and in April 2012 the management of the
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Business Unit, one of four Business Units
within the Chassis & Safety Division. Effective November 1, 2013 Friedrich Angerbauer
is responsible for the new established support function Purchasing within Chassis &
Safety. In this capacity he reports directly to Frank Jourdan, Executive Board Member
Continental AG and President of Chassis & Safety Division and indirectly to Guenter
Fella, Head of Purchasing Automotive.
Friedrich Angerbauer is married and has two children. In his spare time, he spends time
with his family and enjoys sports and travelling.
