FITNESS CLASSES These classes are designed for low to mid mobility older adults (i.e., some difficulty functioning, sedentary for some time, uses walking aids, etc) - with evidence-based results. Dress for the classes include loose, comfortable outerwear, good fitting work-out footwear, water bottle, and a desire for fun in fitness! They consist of twelve one hour classes over twelve weeks with training for out-of-class programs (Falls Program) that supplement the formal classes and are carried out by the class participants in their own home environment at their own pace and convenience. The classes have four segments, warm-up, cardio, muscle strengthening, and cool-down/stretches. Maintain and improve your quality of life and independence. Improve mobility and active daily living tasks such as personal grooming, sitting, standing, reaching, lifting, preventing falls, playing with the grandchildren, and more. The class is conducted with chair assistance, or in a chair, and at the participant’s own pace. Cardio, strength, balance, flexibility, coordination and other functional mobility issues are integral to the program.
