SUMMER VIRTUAL LEARNING CREDIT RECOVERY INFORMATION Dates: June 21 – July 15, 2010 (Monday-Thursday) Times: 8:00-12:00 Students will only be permitted to register for up to two credit recovery classes. Eligibility: The student must have previously taken and not passed the course to be eligible for Virtual Learning Credit Recovery. Registration: Registration for currently enrolled CHS students must be submitted, with payment of a money order with a minimum registration fee of $50.00 per class, by Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Spaces will be limited. Fees: Students currently enrolled in Cambridge City Schools will pay a fee of $125.00 per class. If the student doesn’t complete the class, the student will be charged $300, the entire cost of the course to the district. Description: Credit Recovery is a self-paced computer based program that combines technology with individualized, teacher direction. Transportation: Students are responsible for the own transportation to and from Summer Virtual Learning Credit Recovery. Curriculum: See Registration Form Payment: Payment must be made with money order payable to Cambridge City Schools. A deposit must be made at the time of registration, $50.00 per class. Personal checks will not be accepted. SUMMER VIRTUAL LEARNING EXPECTATIONS AND POLICIES Arrival and departure: Class begins at 8:00 a.m.; you must be present at this time. Students must be off school grounds by 12:10. Students should be on school grounds no earlier than 10 minutes before their first class and off school grounds no later than 10 minutes after class. Attendance: More than 3 days absence from summer virtual learning credit recovery will be dismissal from the program. Attendance will be counted from the first day of class, June 21, 2010. Arrival after the first hour will be counted as a full day’s absence, if less than an hour, three tardies equal an absence. Bring a note from home for all absences but this will still count against the student’s overall attendance record. Credit Recovery will allow students to work at their own pace and will receive recovered credit when mastery in the course(s) is achieved. Student may work additionally after scheduled schooling at any internet based computer. At that time, students will have completed their summer commitment and need not attend further. Classroom rules: Each teacher will establish reasonable rules. Discipline: Students removed from Summer School will not receive a refund. Smoking is NOT allowed in the building or on school grounds.
