7:15 pm Meeting opened with prayer by Reverend Eileen

Minutes from April 10, 2012 were approved.
3.
Treasurer’s Report – all according to plan at this time. Bob George reported that $134,000 is
available for capital projects, plus whatever Endowment fund wants to give to us. About $72,000
of that total is designated for 2012 projects. We have just paid for final installation of stove
($388) This was not included in April report.

Review of 2012 Open Issues list:





















70 – Closet needs doorknob. To be completed by Rick Lux.
269 – Water in conduit box. Bob Smith meeting with electrician tomorrow to resolve. We
may not have to dig up the conduit to fix this.
Consultation with fire marshall regarding exit routes and a lockbox – to be done by next
month
281 – installation of chair rail in chapel – To be completed this Saturday (workday). Jaol
showed a sample of the chair rail – painted in the same light green shade as the walls.
285 – Kitchen Stove – has been installed.
286 – still open
288b – flashing repairs still needed. Not likely to be done on Workday. Still needs some
planning for the right method to use.
292 – Fan for choir room has been purchased and will be installed. It will exhaust into the
“Flower” room. Bob Smith still working on this.
294 - cracks in pillar – Rick Lux still working on this.
295 – Cloud lights were cleaned while lift was here for Narthex project.
296 – Lock box – ask fire marshall before next meeting – Chris Schaller
298 – Door out of dishroom – will be locked from inside to improve security– workday.
Faucet for Sink in preschool – planned to be repaired on workday.
305 –vermiculite insulation leaking out of bricks in sanctuary306 – Sign out front looks yellowed and aging. (Chris Schaller will ask Signs Now and
Clinton Signs). Larry prefers a sign that can have a changeable message.
307 – Need light outside elevator door on lower level. (Will replace on Saturday).
Social Room floor needs replacement. Do along with energy conservation as a total
package. Bob Smith will begin looking at flooring materials. Plan this project for one year
from now.
Bob Thon reports that a ridge is developing at entryway to elevator. Bob Abbott
investigating.
Parking lot lights on tall poles may not be working. Dick will check on Saturday.
Community donation center (food and clothing donations) looks cluttered and shabby.
Replace blue dumpster.

Progress Reports and New Business:

Reverend Eileen thanked trustees for her new microphone.

Kitchen Stove – Delivered and installed May 7, 2012. ¾” gas line will be replaced with 1”
line. Bob Abbott requested that Monroe Piping be called to clean and check the hood. Only
Cameo cleaner should be used. Trustees expressed thanks to Randy Nelson and Melinda
Gaudioso who extensively researched and shepherded this project.
New roof in progress. Restroom fans should be checked while roof work is in progress.
Recent rain has slowed the work.
Summary of energy saving projects was presented by Gary Maier. In the past 5 years,
Trustees have completed 38 energy conservation projects and spent $180,321 on these
projects. Energy savings has amounted to $18,000 - $20,000 per year as a result, and these
savings will continue on into the future.
Narthex Project (insulation and new lighting): Project complete.
Shades for Chapel: Light – filtering solar shades have been ordered and will be installed in
May.
Boy Scouts have volunteered to build the bridge to Heritage, but request funding. We
will invite the Scouts to present the project. Need more information to make decision.
Pantry next to kitchen is overcrowded. Women’s Association requests closet space for
chafing dishes. To be decided. Closet should be thoroughly cleaned first.
Spring Work Day – May 12th 8am – noon. Work lists being prepared. Advertising will be
placed in bulletin and Pathway. Breakfast pizza will be served. Rain date May 19 th.
Project lists for inside and outside projects were developed.
Driveway repairs needed (pot hole at south entrance and apron at that entrance is
disintegrating.) Bob Smith received bid from All County. $800. Will continue to research.
Pothole has been temporarily patched.
Discussion of vandalism by Scouts. Bob Abbott will come on a Monday night to observe
the Scout meeting and level of supervision in place.
Joint meeting with Session and Deacons scheduled for Monday June 4th at 7pm in Rooms
9/10. Discussion will include ways to retain current members and attract more new members
to our congregation.
