The OWNERS of “The Cottage” keep a Guest Book handy for visitors to voluntarily leave their comments (good or bad) upon
completion of their stay. Following are those comments left by our guests. We’ve also included some comments by the owners
during periods of re-modeling.
2011
October 27, 2011 - What a great place. We loved it here; everything was so pretty. We saw an eagle fly down the river - that
was special! We plan to return again some day soon and bring some friends. The weather was perfect and the view was great. We
had such a great stay. Thanks so much; it’s a lovely place to get away and your hospitality added to it.
October 24, 2011 - What a perfect place for a get-a-way - the Cottage was even better than we’d hoped! Each year we choose a
different place to gather but we’re already talking about when we can get back here to the Cottage. It’s been a very comfortable
“home away from home”. Your lovely décor inspired all the gals to go home and try some new decorating in their own places. We
especially appreciated the kitchen; it had everything we needed to make some delicious meals. It’s easy to see this place gets plenty
of TLC and attention to detail. Thanks for making it a wonderful place to stay.
October 23, 2011 - Your little Cottage is blessed with peace. My girlfriends and I soaked it up and enjoyed our stay. I love the
kitchen colors. We only scratched the surface of the mysteries of the river and it seemed to change in subtle ways. It was truly
wonderful to be here.
October 20, 2011 - Wow! We woke up this morning to a beautiful view……almost heaven.
October 17, 2011 - Thanks again (we‘re back)! Ruby’s Landing and the Cottage has become our little refuge; we just love it
here. Happy Anniversary to us and hope to see you again next year!
October 9, 2011 - We had a great time here at the Cottage; we really loved it! I’m hating that we have to pack up and go home - there
are so many things to do around here in Mtn. View and the surrounding area. We will definitely be back and hopefully we’ll get to
see more the next time. We loved the backyard view of the White River - wish we had brought the boat and ATV to explore even
more! Again, we love your home and thanks so much for sharing it with our family. P.S. I love your decorating too; very cozy
but still large enough for our family of seven.
September 5, 2011 - Family fishing trip and relaxation; having a great time here at the Cottage. It is lovely and peaceful. First day
of fishing wasn’t too great (boat motor problems). We plan to rent a boat tomorrow. We went to Angler’s and had fish because
JoJo’s was packed! Afterwards, we went to the square in Mt. View and enjoyed the singing, then settled in for a good night’s rest.
The guys went fishing on Day 2 and the gals are enjoying a wonderful home-made breakfast. We’ll probably do antique shopping
today and get some much needed R&R. Well, we had a wonderful time; too bad it has to end. We’ll definitely be back and will
recommend the Cottage to everyone - thanks for sharing your cottage with us; we really enjoyed it! God Bless.
August 7, 2011 - We came here for our first of many anniversaries. It was so nice to relax, watch movies, and eat ice cream
together out of the bucket! Thank you for letting us make memories here.
July 31, 2011 - Best cottage ever! We had a really good time. The water was just a little cold, but it was a great experience to have.
We enjoyed it.
July 27, 2011 - We are really enjoying our stay here. We especially like seeing the dew come off the river in the morning with the
picturesque mountains. Your cottage is very nice - perfect for our family! The loft bedroom is perfect for our children - they all
sleep there and love to look down on us when we’re eating/cooking. Thank you for sharing your home and letting us relax. We have
so enjoyed it and Mountain View and hope to be back. Once again, we really enjoyed our say. It was great and your place is lovely.
We’d be very happy to come back to Ruby’s Landing if able. The group that rents/managers your place is fantastic. I called lots of
places and Randy’s availability to answer all my questions and tell me about your place sold me.
July 21, 2011 - We are having a great time. The house is so cute and we LOVE the purple room. I’m so glad we came back here.

July 3, 2011 - My husband and I thought your cottage was very beautiful. We have family with a cabin close to here and we try
to bring as many family members together as possible for the 4 th of July. Our families are mostly from Illinois and Texas. This year
we brought friends with us, their first time to Arkansas. We have enjoyed your cabin and all its touches of home. Thanks for the great
cottage and its view.
June 22, 2011 - This was a wonderful home for my out-of-town family to make memories. Thanks.

May 15, 2011 - Wonderful. We had a great stay; your place is the best that we’ve stayed at on the White River. We’ll be back!
April 1- mid May 11, 2011 - Period of extreme wet weather/high water on the White River. Fishing was non-existent for several
weeks and consequently, there were no stays at “The Cottage” during this time. The last of the current renovations (Mud Room area)
were completed 5/11/11.
February 15 - March 31, 2011 - Several repair/improvement projects occurred at “The Cottage”. The upstairs bathroom was
upgraded to include a large new tile shower. The downstairs powder room was enlarged to include a shower and conversion to a full
bathroom.(the old utility area was enclosed to accommodate the new shower). A new utility room was built in the area which had
formerly been the attached garage. A sink was also installed to make the area into a mud room. Lastly, the old garage door was
removed and replaced by a new window and single access service door. There were no stays at “The Cottage” during this period.
February 12, 2011 - Thank you for a wonderful time. We enjoyed ourselves very much. This is our 2 nd trip here and we were able to
have lots of R & R. Your house is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for a wonderful Valentine’s Day weekend get-a-way. This is our
second stay here at Ruby’s landing. We have come to the Mt. Olive Access for years and camped down at the boat dock. We
consider the day we saw one of your signs a blessing. Both of our stays here have been wonderful. We have spent time with our
children without all the daily interruptions. We have made memories here that are priceless and for that we thank you.
February 11, 2011 - I just got here. I love it! My first time here - my sons came here before and asked me to come. I will be back up
here. I just love this place - it was all I needed. It’s not just a place, this was made of love.
2010
December 28, 2010 - My family and I spent our first Christmas with my dad and his girlfriend here. It was a wonderful experience.
This is a beautiful place. I have told my husband several times how much I would like to live here. Can’t wait to come back.

November 26, 2010 - We loved it. It was a great place. I want to come back again.
October 18, 2010 - We were married on the 16th of October, and how fortunate it was to spend the first two days of our lives together
here. Everything about the cottage and grounds is perfect! We plan on coming here for our anniversary next year. Thank you
for your hospitality.
September 5, 2010 - You guys rock. This is a great place; you’ve done a lot of work on it to make sure it’s special for everyone
who comes to enjoy it. We can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done for us. This was a very special Anniversary gift. As much as
there is to relish here, our absolute favorite was the extremely vibrant light show of the stars. I have never seen a more clear and
detailed sky than this. Awesome.
July 30, 2010 - We arrived mid-afternoon to a beautiful place in the middle of no where. Randy was the best, he did everything
he could to make sure we would enjoy our stay. Enjoyed a bluegrass show at Jimmy Driftwoods in Mountain View. We will see
what tomorrow will bring
July 17, 2010 - You have a wonderful place to relax and create special memories. Thank you for sharing your cottage with our
family this week.
July 11, 2010 - Our family and friends had a wonderful time playing in the river, catching fish and generally relaxing. What a
wonderful place - we felt “at home” from the minute we arrived! Randy was like a long lost friend - just as nice as he can be.
We’ll certainly be in touch and will want to stay here again.
July 2, 2010 - What a great place to spend your Anniversary weekend! My first view was on the computer. I explained to family
& friends it looked like we were going to visit Grandma’s house. When we arrived & came in, it was wonderful. I could not
believe the details. We just kept saying how could you not want to live here! I hope it is a long weekend. Want plenty of time to
take it all in.
This place is epic. I love it. Keep up the good work. This place is so beautiful!
Memorial Day Weekend 2010 - This was our first weekend get-a-way together. I truly feel that no matter where our travels might
take us in the future, this Cottage at Ruby’s Landing will always hold a special place in our hearts. We saw eagles and all sorts of
wildlife during our stay. I will indeed treasure the memories we made here
My sweetie & I are proud to have been your 1 st guests. 5 years ago this weekend my children’s dad, my ex, died. So,
Memorial Day weekend has always had sad memories. But, thanks to this beautiful cottage, with such an awesome view, my
memories will include a wonderful weekend at “The Cottage”. Thanks!
The “Early” Days
May 2010 - We have completed all of the exterior on the first floor. The cedar cabinet & closet in the garage is now complete. We
cleaned & patched the outside fireplace/grill and it looks good. We also bought a gas grill for the back deck and put a new umbrella
over the patio table. Front & back doors have been re-painted. We have been staying here fairly often & enjoying the place very
much. The hummingbirds & fireflies at night & all the birds are a pleasure to see. Good news from Mt. Olive Outdoors - we have a
guest staying over on Memorial Day weekend. The DSL/wireless router is working nicely - we’ve been using the laptop & the speed
is great! We hung the shutters for the downstairs windows - they really help in dressing up the house. We brought some of our cedar
lawn furniture over & found a nice shady place to put it (late afternoon shade). We also decided to put a porch swing out back. I
think we’re ready for our first guests over Memorial Day. We hope they enjoy ‘The Cottage” as much as we do. Owners
April 2010 - We created a “horseshoe” - shaped driveway. Staining of the house & deck continues. Shutters will be installed once
staining is finished. Dish satellite has been installed. A DSL high speed line will also be installed. An owner’s cabinet & tenant
closet will be built & installed in the garage/bedroom area. Lots of work has been done in preparation for getting “The Cottage” in
shape for May rentals.
March 2010 - Renovations & repairs to ”The Cottage” have begun. The deck was power-washed & plans are to stain it pewter gray.
We have started caulking the entire exterior of the house & will re-stain the house the same color as it was - Gettysburg Blue.
Landscaping has begun too - we planted 6 fruit trees & 8 pine trees out front. We also have a nice little wishing well in the front yard.
February 14, 2010 - We had our first overnight house guests. We sat in front of the fireplace & watched a few DVD’s. We hung
new drapes in the dining & living rooms. We put a couple of smoke detectors upstairs in the loft & master bedroom. We hope to
meet with Randy & Katie (Mt. Olive Outdoors) soon to discuss renting out “The Cottage”.
January 1, 2010 - We closed on the property and are now the new owners of “The Cottage”. We really fell in love with this place
and hope to make some improvements and make it more “our own” in the near future.
