Homecoming Committee Application 2015
Dear Applicant,
The Greek Board of Directors is an organization made up of student leaders from Greek organizations at LSU. The
purpose of the Greek Board of Directors is to ensure the welfare and continued growth and development of the
Greek community and to promote Greek activities for the benefit and enhancement of the Greek community at
LSU. The Greek Board of Directors exists to unify Greek organizations through programs and to serve as an
advisory council to the Office of Greek Life in a visionary role to move the Greek community forward.
Annually, the Greek Board of Directors sponsors EMPOWER weekend, Greek Week, Songfest and Homecoming
events while promoting the community through coordinated public relations and fundraising efforts. More
information about these events can be found on our website at greeks.lsu.edu.
Below, you will find requirements for potential committee members of Greek Board of Directors as well as a brief
description of the position that will be filled. The Homecoming Committee is composed of Greek students who
will be responsible for the planning and execution of Homecoming.
Requirements:
Full-time student enrolled at LSU (12+ hours)
2.5 Cumulative GPA (2.5 GPA in the preceding semester)
On active status and in good standing within your chapter
In good standing with Louisiana State University
High level of commitment and desire to make a difference
Homecoming Committee:
The committee will work with the Homecoming Directors and chapter Homecoming
representatives to plan an event that will reflect positively on the Greek community, showcasing
spirit and enthusiasm for LSU and its traditions in a professional manner. Members of the
committee will work with the Public Relations Committee to ensure that the event is publicized to
our Greek members, friends and families.
Member positions: (Check position applying for)
 Greek Olympics (3 members): Coordinates with chapter pairings details of Greek Olympics
tournament. In charge of planning and setting up games for the event.
 Can drive (2 members): Arranges Pack the Pod event details. In charge of making schedule
for members to be at Pod, etc…
 Spirit (2 members): Keep Homecoming spirit up! Assist other members with any details of
event, etc.
 Lawn (2 members): Communicate with all of the chapters the rules and deadlines for lawn
decorations. Also assist in maintaining good fraternity/sorority pair relationships.
Attached you will find the 2014 committee application. Applications can also be found on the Greek Life website
at greeks.lsu.edu. Applications will be due to the Greek Life Office (LSU Student Union, Rm 472) Wednesday,
March 4th by 4:30 p.m. Interviews will be conducted in the following weeks.
