Coin Business Scholarship Andrew Thomas Lavery has been selected as the recipient of the 2007 Stanley H. Coin Business Scholarship, offered through the Rock Island-Milan Education Foundation. Andrew is a 2007 graduate of Rock Island High School where he was in the top ten of his academic class and was also a member of the varsity football team and baseball team. An Illinois State Scholar, he will attend the University of Iowa in the fall and major in business. As a supporting member of Rock Island/Milan School District #41, the Stanley H. Coin Business Scholarship was established in 2002 by the Bank’s board of directors to honor Stanley H. Coin, a founding American Bank board member and former American Bank chairman, for his contributions and more than 30 years of service to the company. Mr. Coin retired from the Bank in 2002. The Scholarship is awarded every sping to a graduating Rock Island High School senior student who plans to continue their education and major in business. Recipients must also be in good academic standing, maintain an active roll in the community and of financial need.
