Subject: [Haas Alumni SF] Panel: How to sell your company - 5/16 at 6:30
Haas Alumni Network, San Francisco Chapter
Emerging Trends in Liquidity for
Entrepreneurs: Planning for exit through
M&A
World Trace Club
One Ferry Plaza
San Francisco, CA, CA 94111
Tuesday, May 16, 2006
6:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Details
Please join the San Francisco Chapter of the Haas Alumni Network for a timely panel
discussion of the strategies and issues attendant to planning an exit via M&A for
entrepreneurs.
More and more frequently, startups in the computer technology and biotechnology
industries have forgone an IPO as their target exit strategy, instead focusing on
positioning their companies for acquisition by much larger, publicly traded
companies. This panel attempts to gather key industry players for a lively discussion
of this evolution and its ramifications for both entrepreneurs and the investment
community.
Our distinguished panel includes Corporate Development officers from Cisco and
Amgen, a senior banker from Banc of America Securities, a senior partner from DLA
Piper Rudnick Gray Cary US LLP, and an entrepreneur who recently accomplished a
successful exit.
The panel will be moderated by Haas School's own Professor Jerry Engel, the
Executive Director of the Lester Center For Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Whether you are now in the planning stages of your exit strategy or are
contemplating founding a new company, you will be well served by the expertise of
these distinguished panelists.
A limited number of discounted tickets will be available for current students at the
Haas School of Business.
Agenda:
6:30-7:30: Registration and networking. Light refreshments will be served.
7:30-9:00: Panel and Q&A.
Cost:
Advance Registration, by May 9: $35.00
Student Registration, by May 9: $30.00
Late Registration, after May 9: $45.00
