ACADEMIC BOARD ELECTION OF NON-PROFESSORIAL AND HONORARY SENIOR CLINICAL LECTURER MEMBERS FOR 2004-05 AND 2005-06 NOTES 1. The elected staff constituency of Academic Board [AB] includes up to 225 places for elected representatives of the non-professorial and non-academic staff. For these elections, 195 places are available to elected non-professorial academic staff; 30 to elected non-academic staff. The non-professorial academic staff membership is divided into the following constituencies: the Faculties of Arts and Humanities, Built Environment, Engineering Sciences, Laws, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Social and Historical Sciences, and UCL Biomedicine (comprising the Royal Free and University College Medical School, the Faculties of Clinical Sciences and Life Sciences, the Institutes of Child Health, Neurology and Ophthalmology, the Eastman Dental Institute and the Wolfson Institute for Biomedical Research), with representation from each constituency in proportion as closely as may be to the number in each constituency of full-time academic staff in the grades of Reader, Clinical Reader, Senior Lecturer, Senior Clinical Lecturer, Lecturer, Clinical Lecturer and of grantsupported research staff. Of the 195 places available to members of the non-professorial academic staff, 67 have already been filled by persons elected in February 2003 (or nominated subsequently to fill a casual vacancy) to serve for the academic years 2003-04 and 2004-05. Persons filling the remaining 128 vacancies will serve for the academic years 2004-05 and 2005-061. 3. A constituency's representation may exceed the quoted maximum provided that a sufficient number of vacancies exist elsewhere among the total number of staff elected and that AB is satisfied that a balanced representation of constituencies is satisfactorily preserved. [Regulation for Management 3.2(i).] 5. Elected members are eligible for re-election for further periods of two years, subject to a maximum period of continuous service of six years. Nominations must be supported by a Proposer and a Seconder, both of whom must, like the Nominee, be members of the non-professorial academic staff in the above categories. Proposers and Seconders must be members of the Nominee's own constituency (see Note 9. below). 8.
