The International Conference will consist of two-days opening ceremonies and technical sessions (2-3 November 2009) including one day APFRIEND workshop (Asia Pacific FRIEND) on Tuesday 3 November, one-day technical visit to the Three Gorges reservoir (4 November) and two-days (5-6 November) for the 17th RSC Meeting. The general conference themes of Hydrology and Disaster Management are selected in order to attract from the region a broad range of paper and presentations devoted to several focal areas of IHP-VII (2008-2013). It is hoped that water scientists, engineers and other professionals will be attracted not only from the East Asia and Pacific Region but also from the South and Middle East Asian countries bordering the Indian Ocean (the entire Monsoon region, in effect).
