Motion to approve minutes by Rick Missell, seconded by Jan Wintle Treasurer’s Report Account Balance as of June 301 is $9417.17 Motion to approve treasurer report with corrections by Carol Kampschnieder, seconded by Nichole Blaser Budget It appears that a budget for 2014 was not prepared. Discussions concerning the current Motion to increase dues to $50 expenses and projected income were held. It was proposed to increase the state dues portion for State by Rick Missell, of the dues collected by the districts to $50 from $35. Current budgeted items for 2014 include seconded by Carol Kampschnieder. Board approved AONE membership, President and Secretary/Treasurer $220 each $440.00 to start with dues in 2015. AONE Convention/Chapter Leaders Meeting/Regional Meetings $2,500.00 Dee will draft communication Insurance – unknown $ concerning the changes for the Registered agent – unknown $ districts. Scholarship/Conferences/Certifications/Awards $1,000.00 Misc/Postage/Copying/Brochures $100.00 Board Meeting Rooms/Meals $600.00 Fall NHA Convention Costs $2,000.00 Sponsorship (NNA legislative day, NAC, etc.) $1350.00 Promotional Activities/Website $500.00 Nebraska Organization of Nurse Leaders State Agenda Item: Discussion/Decisions Made Follow-Up/Responsible Person Refocus budget on strategic plan – need to be more focused with use of funds and use strategic plan to guide us in future support of initiatives. Identify the use of sponsorship dollars for the year and philosophy of support. Have to provide value to the membership. Model other states Old Business IRS Update NHA AONE and Chapter Affiliate Meeting NONL-sponsored Mentoring Award All districts and the state are currently in compliance – Dee will check with Tim Coufal about becoming our registered agent. Annual NHA meeting program information – Dr. Helen Chappel – Center for Health Policy at Creighton University. She will present on ethical dilemmas for nurse leaders in Nebraska Program will be Wednesday with 2 presentations. NONL will be able to attend Key Note presentation with the 2 NONL presentations. Explore possibility of networking meeting sponsored by NONL after NHA meeting. Distinguished Leader Mentorship applications reviewed and awards going to Carol Wahl and Jody Kempnich. Website Updates We have had issues with contacting website administrator. Will continue to work on developing website. Identifying and Marketing to new NONL potential members Strategic Plan Goal Identified areas of focus as building alliances and engaging the membership. Plan to divide the board members into two groups Building alliances – Cindy Costanzo, Pam Uhlir, Judy McGee, Jan Wintle, Dee Ernesti Engage membership - Linda Walline, Rose Leavitt, Rick Missell, Dana Steiner, Carol Kampschnieder, Nicole Blaser Reports to be sent to Rose for minutes. Lunch and learn monthly offerings, once get website going – free to NONL members All groups together – NAC, NNA, NONL, and Center for Nursing. Change the structure for the state umbrella organization potential to use the Idaho model – all at table but all maintain individual identity – leveraging all the different groups. Host presidents meeting – create vision for unified nursing. World café process, this year start dialogue and discuss – invite sue Crawford. May need take to the state legislature. Develop model – what need to be successful – must have executive leadership role for continuity to make it work. Robert wood Johnson grant – explore opportunity to write grant to support new model.
