Parent Training and Information for
Families of Children with Disabilities
PARENT LEADERSHIP TRAINING
PTI Nebraska has received funding to offer leadership training designed specifically for
parents who have a child with a disability and is six years old or younger. It is being
made available to those parents who are serving on their local Planning Region Team,
(PRT) or who might do so in the future. There is no cost for attending this training.
Hotel rooms and meals will be provided. Parents will be provided stipends for each
weekend to assist with the cost of travel and childcare.
Parents will develop their individual leadership skills and set their own personal goals
through hands on exercises and experiences. The days will be busy while parents are
learning about themselves, discovering their strengths and having fun.
The first training will take place in North Platte at the Sandhills Conference Center on
August 12th and 13th and September 17th. Attendance at all three sessions is mandatory
for registration.

These learning opportunities are made available to the eligible Nebraska families by the
