Computers for Beginners
February 7—Computers offer a world of information and resources at your fingertips—if you know
how to use them! Prepare to enter the digital age by taking “Computers for Beginners” on Saturday,
February 11. Offered by Santiago Canyon College’s Community Services program, this class is strictly
for beginners. You’ll learn computer and software basics in a non-intimidating environment with other
novice users.
In “Computers for Beginners” you’ll identify the different parts of a computer and learn basic
terminology. Discover the difference between an operating system and a software program, and get an
overview of word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
The instructor is Dori Dumon, a multimedia web designer who has taught computer applications
for 14 years. She is also a part-time instructor at Santiago Canyon College.
“Computers for Beginners” meets this Saturday, February 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at
Santiago Canyon College in room B-106. The cost is $89. The college is located at 8045 E. Chapman
Avenue in Orange.
