Introduction - Akrotiri Pottery Artefacts found at Akrotiri, on modern Santorini island, are at least 4000 years old and were buried by a major volcanic eruption. The archaeological teams have recovered hundreds of ceramic artefacts, some complete but often in pieces. Restoring the original pieces is like doing a puzzle.
