HCA International Clinical Research Fellowship in Perioperative & Critical Care Medicine This new scheme supports outstanding medically qualified individuals to pursue translational clinical research in perioperative medicine and critical care. The HCA International Clinical Fellowship in Perioperative & Critical Care Medicine at The Princess Grace Hospital is a fixed-term appointment, minimum 1 year. Clinical role: The clinical component of the post comprises clinical sessions on the Intensive Care Unit at Princess Grace Hospital., one of HCA’s most progressive hospitals in central London. Research: The research component of the post is based at the Centre for Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine www.ucl.ac.uk/anaesthesia. A range of multi-disciplinary, translational clinical research projects are available for prospective candidates to consider, covering all aspects of perioperative medicine and critical care research. Research opportunities/training encompass basic laboratory research, clinical trials and epidemiological research methodology, potentially leading to a higher degree at University College London. Following a successful three-month review, fellows may be eligible to register for higher degrees (where applicable). Applications. All candidates should be eligible for registration with the GMC. Previous successful completion of Fellowship Royal College of Anaesthetists (or equivalent) is mandatory. Candidates who have completed certification of specialist training (or equivalent- i.e. “boarded” in anaesthesia) and/or a doctoral thesis (PhD or MD) are particularly welcome. A previous track record of research publications, superior academic achievement and/or research techniques is essential.
