Job Position: Analytical Chemist
About Us:
Nantero is a nanotechnology company using carbon nanotubes for the development of
next-generation semiconductor devices. These devices include memory, logic, and other
semiconductor products. In the field of memory, the company's objective is to deliver
NRAMTM, a product that will replace all existing forms of memory, such as DRAM and
flash memory found in common devices such as cell phones, MP3 players, digital
cameras, and much more. The potential applications for NRAMTM also include the ability
to enable instant-on computing and advanced networking capabilities. Nantero is a
successful, growing leader in the field of nanotechnology and wants talented people like
you to be part of the team.
Nantero has an extensive intellectual property portfolio with over 200 United
States patent applications – 175 are granted covering all aspects of the purification,
formulation and electronic device integration of carbon nanomaterials.

Nantero’s Quality Control and Characterization Group is seeking a highly motivated
analytical chemist, with a solid background in aqueous and non-aqueous separation and
characterization techniques involving complex colloidal media, especially involving
nanomaterials or possibly other complex media (e.g., aqueous suspensions of
soil/sediments, biologics, or petrochemicals).
The ideal candidate will:
 have experience in handling and separating complex solution matrices (e.g.,
colloidal suspensions and nanoparticle mixtures) into discrete components.
 conduct hands-on lab work and attendant research on a daily bases with other
team members or independently.
 work with minimal supervision on analytical process development, which will
inform R&D, Pilot Plant, and other QC efforts
 seek out new separation and characterization methods that support the company’s
research objectives
 recommend equipment needed to execute experiments in-house or identify
outsourcing options as needed.
 show regard for the safety of others and diligence in labeling and correct waste

Knowledgeable use of software packages such as Microsoft Power Point, Word,
and Excel is a must. Experience with Origin, JMP, R or other numerical analysis
tools is a plus.
have familiarity with formal quality control metrics , e.g., control chart generation
and use.
Who You Are
Candidate should have a Ph.D or MS (with three years’ experience) in Analytical
Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Materials Science or other relevant technical
degree program or experience involving the separation and characterization of
complex media, especially as it regards analysis and quality control.
In depth knowledge and hands on experience in developing and executing aqueous and
non-aqueous separation and characterization methods is a must. Examples of skills that
may be useful to prospective candidates include: Gel electrophoresis, ATPS, Site
Labeling, GC, HPLC, TLC, GPC, ultra filtration, density gradient centrifugation,
titration. NMR, FTIR, UV-VIS, refractometry, polarimetry.
Successful candidates must show a pointed attention to detail and be able to apply
standard principles, theories and concepts in their field. Candidates should have a
