Review of technological practices, activities of water management concerning agriculture and
environmental management Review of theoretical knowledge and exercises in practice.

1. Importance of water, European Water Charta.
2. Water management in Hungary.
3. Basics of hydrology, hydrological cycle.
4. Elements of hydrologic cycle: precipitation, evaporation, infiltration, run off.
5. Surface water types.
6. Subsurface water types.
7. Physical, organoleptic, chemical, biological and microbiological qualification of
water, water quality groups.
8. Needs and utilization of water. Water supplement and canalling. Waste water
treatment.
9. The effect of agriculture for water pollution. Self purification of watersource. Surface
water contamination. Pollution source of surface water.
10. Pollution of still water, eutrophication. Eutrophication control.
