STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED FOR QUICK DISBURSAL OF GULF
WAR COMPENSATION CLAIMS.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please follow the following simple steps, which will enable our branches to
speed up the disbursal of your Gulf war compensation claims and help us in
serving you better.
1. The claims in respect of applications submitted by claimants are
sanctioned by the UNCC on a random basis. The Ministry of External
Affairs GOI New Delhi provides the list of successful claims to our
Parliament Street Branch New Delhi, who in turn segregates the list as
per the addresses furnished by the claimants and sends the same to the
respective Zonal Offices spread over different States of the Country.
Zonal Offices in turn supply the list to the respective branches who
will send the intimation letters to the successful claimants. Please note
that you have to open the account in the branches who would send
you the intimation letter and this is based on the address which you
would have given at the time of claiming the amount.
2. As soon as the intimation for receipt of claim is received, please send
immediately to the branch concerned the following documents duly
filled in
a) Indemnity Bond
b) Discharge Certificate
c) Original letter of intimation letter / SKC card received from the
Ministry
d) Undertaking regarding not having multiple active claims with
other Banks
e) Tax declaration forms
f) Xerox copy of the passport mentioned in the claim application
form as also that of the latest passport.
3. You should also remember to inform the branch the manner in which
you wish to receive the claim amount viz. in INR, NRI deposits etc. In
case you are an NRI and wish to have the amount invested in FCNR
deposit / NRE/ NRNRRD / NRSR/ NRO, kindly intimate the same at
the time of submitting your documents to the branch besides
forwarding the relevant application form which can be downloaded
from our website. In case instructions are not received for placing the
funds in NRI deposit scheme, the amount would be converted into
INR at the prevailing rates and shall be credited to your account
opened at the branch.
4. In case you are staying abroad you can get all the abovementioned
documents duly attested by the Embassy office and forward the same
to the concerned branch of our Bank
5. The specimen formats of all the documents referred above at Point
No. 2 are displayed in the following pages.
6. We have already displayed on our website the list of our branches and
RDCs handling the Gulf-war compensation claims.
