Summer Workshop Series
Basic Beading
Cost: $60 (Includes tuition and supplies)
This workshop will provide an overview of basic beading techniques to create a variety
of necklaces and earrings. Students will learn creative ways to utilize beads, cords, and
findings to create beautiful jewelry designs. This class is open to all ages from “9 to 90”
It’s a great comprehensive class for the beginner beader.
What to bring:
Lots of creativity and energy!
Treasure Necklace
Cost: $60 (Includes tuition and supplies)
This workshop will give students a unique opportunity to combine both creativity and
purpose with their own “old or odds and ends” jewelry or vintage pieces to create a very
personal piece that tells a significant story! This class is suitable for all skill levels
(beginner, intermediate and advanced).

Your “one of a kind” personal pieces of jewelry and beads…
About the Instructor
Cheryl Moody is an accomplished artist with over 30 years of experience in beading. Her
work has been featured in Elle Magazine, the New Yorker and on the cover of Essence
Magazine with Queen Latifa. Some of her jewelry designs have appeared in the movie
Sister Act and the popular sitcom, The Cosby Show. Cheryl resides in Silver Spring,
Maryland.
Intermediate Beading
Cost: $60 (Includes tuition and supplies)
This workshop will provide an overview of intermediate beading techniques to create a
beautiful, intricate and fun ring designs using this abstract cluster technique. Students
will learn wire wrapping and manipulation techniques, ring sizing, and how to work with
head pins to create a beautiful jewelry design.
What to bring:

Advanced Beading
Cost: $60 (Includes tuition and supplies)
This workshop will provide an overview of advanced beading techniques, creating color
patterns, braiding techniques with beaded jewelry, and finishing with wire and bead caps.
Students will create a beautiful and bold statement necklace “bib style” using multi
colored stones, beading wire, and silver. You will be delighted with your finished
jewelry!

About the Instructor
Christine Haynes is the owner and designer of Fezelry Jewelry Designs. During the
course of her design career, her work has been seen strutting down the runways of
Chicago Fashion week, worn by actors on The Bold and the Beautiful and As the World
Turns soap operas, and she also adorns many local television news personalities in the
Washington DC area. She is a published writer, specializing in jewelry design and a
frequent contributor to several publications including Step by Step Wire Jewelry and
BeadStyle Magazine. Christine has also co-authored two books on jewelry design entitled
“Easy Beading Vol. 6” and “Jewelry in a Flash.” Most recently, her work was featured in
the Best of Step by Step Wire Jewelry 2010. Christine has been designing jewelry for
over 10 years with a specialty in sterling silver and gemstones; she is an Accredited
Jewelry Professional holding several certifications from the Gemological Institute of
America.
Design Solutions
Cost: $60
This workshop will provide an overview of the ten (10) basic elements of design.
Students will learn creative ways to mix new materials in traditional and contemporary
ways. Students will be able to get their individual questions answered about problems
they are experiencing and find creative resolutions to their challenging design issues.
This class is open to beginner, intermediate and advanced beaders. A perfect class for
aspiring jewelry designers.
What to bring:
2-3 jewelry projects of your own that require help
Magical Mix Necklace
Cost: $60 (Includes tuition and supplies)
This workshop will provide an overview for designing a unique one of a kind necklace
using a combination of threads and beads. Students will learn multiple ways to combine
both materials in traditional and contemporary ways. This class is open to beaders at all
levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced).

About the Instructor
Elaine Robnett Moore is the designer of the Elaine Robnett Moore Collection; beautiful
jewelry art / sculptures of necklaces, bracelets, ankle bracelets, waist beads, and earrings.
Elaine uses her artistic talents as well as her business experience to teach the art of
jewelry design to artists and craftspeople in both emerging and developed countries. She
is the past president of the Bead Society of Greater Washington. Recently, Elaine has
received an exclusive opportunity to host a trunk show of her collection at The Kennedy
Center for Performing Arts in Washington DC in celebration of performances by the
Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and for the upcoming opera season in the spring. She resides
in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Beads and Fiber Art
Cost: $60 (Includes tuition and supplies)
This workshop is perfect for the individual with multiple craft skills. Students will learn
creative ways to utilize crochet and knitting techniques and create bead patterns to design
a beautiful necklace! This necklace project requires basic crochet and knitting skills and
will be created with a variety of fiber and beads. This class is ideal for all skill levels.

About the Instructor
Bobbi Gorban is a native Washingtonian. She is an artist and art educator. She works in
the mediums of fiber and jewelry to create wearable fiber art. She has combined those
two in her one-of-a-kind fiber jewelry. She also creates fiber art using varied techniques.
Her creation of both knitted and crocheted necklaces have been featured in many area
galleries and shows, including the Ratner Museum in Bethesda, Maryland and the
Cambridge Artists Cooperative Gallery in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She currently
teaches classes for both children and adults. Bobbi resides in Potomac, Maryland.
Vintage Jewelry Design
Cost: $60 (Includes tuition and supplies)
This workshop will give students an opportunity to design and create a unique “one of a
kind” necklace with beads, chain, findings and unique jewelry components that is
inspired by the Victorian era. Students will learn how to combine beading technique with
color and design principles to create a beautiful necklace. This class is a wonderful
opportunity to explore one’s creativity and develop unique design skills. This class is
suitable for intermediate and advanced students.

About the Instructor
Renee Prioleau is an accomplished artist with over 10 years of experience as a jewelry
designer in the Washington DC area. Her work has been featured at Nordstrom and
many local vintage shops in the metropolitan area. She is the executive director of The
Bead Studio Inc., a nonprofit organization devoted to developing programs for youth with
a focus on the art and culture of beadwork. Renee resides in Washington DC.
Wire Techniques - Beginner
Cost: $60 (Includes tuition and supplies)
Have fun learning some basic wire wrapping techniques while creating a beautiful
customized wire wrapped stone donut pendant. Students will learn the technique of the
basic wire loop, wrapped wire loop, jump ring attachment, and experience working with
wire.

Wire Techniques - Intermediate

This workshop is absolutely perfect for the individual that would like to develop and
expand their beading skills. Students will learn this beautiful ancient wire weaving
technique (viking knit/chain maille) while creating a unique bracelet.

About the Instructor
Laurel Bielec has a passion for jewelry design and specializes in polymer clay and wire
working techniques. She is a member of the Mile High Polymer Clay Guild and
Wirewrap.org. As a jewelry artist, she has been teaching jewelry classes for 5 years. I
specialize in wire techniques and polymer clay. She has taught at the Yampa Valley Art
Institute and Steamboat Arts and Crafts Gym, located in the Colorado. She is currently
working on her first book which will focus on the Viking Knit technique in jewelry
design.
Peyote Stitch - Beginner
Cost: $60 (Includes tuition and supplies)
Amy Severino will teach students an introduction to the “peyote stitch” technique of
beadwork. Working with needle, thread, and small “Delica” seed beads, students will
learn basic beading techniques to create geometric shaped beads and other patterns.
These miniature works of art can be incorporated into one’s jewelry/fiber art projects.
It’s a great class for the beginner beader with a desire for creativity!

Peyote Stitch - Intermediate
Cost: $60 (Includes tuition and supplies)
Monica Camilli will teach students using simple string and weave techniques with
Swarovski crystal to create colorful “sparkling” patterns for earrings, bracelets and
necklaces. In this class, you will experience fun, energy, inspiration and lots of
creativity!
What to bring:
Bead Mat, Sharpie Marker, Magnifying Glass (optional)
