First stop at Village Museum, lying in a specific romanian setting, on the Herãstrãu lake shore in Bucharest, is one of the biggest and the oldest outdoors museum in Europe. The trip offers you the possibility to combine a short sightseeing tour of Bucharest with the surrounding beautiful landscape offered by Snagov Lake and forest embroidered with monasteries and palaces. We will stop to visit Caldarusani Monastery, built by ruler Matei Basarab and leter painted by Nicolae Grigorescu. Then, we are sure that you will enjoy a tasty lunch (optionally) in a picturesque zone near Snagov Lake and after lunch you will have the occasion to admire the nature or, according to you wish, to cross Snagov Lake by boat (optionally) up to an island where you can visit the Snagov Monastery. Visitors come here to seek the tomb of Dracula sitting in the front of the church altar. Vlad's murder is believed to have occurred in the forests nearby, where the monks took his body, since both Vlad and his father had both given money to the monastery. Meanwhile, through the crepuscular light of the sunset, we make our way along the Sfantu Gheorghe branch to meet one of the few natural canals of the area - Perivolovca - where we drop the anchor and spend the night near the poplar forest. The floating hotel 4* have a maximum capacity of 9 double cabins, each with air conditioned, and private shower and toilet. Restaurant and bar are situated at the upper level of the floating hotels both being fully equipped and air conditioned. Day 2: Danube Delta Early breakfast for fishermen and boarding in the motor boats for the optional program of fishing. The other guests will serve breakfast during the trip made by the floating hotel on Garla Perivolovca, after that they will embark too in the motor boats for visiting the reservation. Taranova, Gorgostel, Chiril, Isaac, Dubcova and many others from a large ‘necklace' of lakes which are always a resting or feeding place for colonies of swans, pelicans and cormorants. We'll visit the lakes and notice that its fish is shared between the fishermen and birds. After visiting some traditional fishing settlements we'll return to the floating hotel have lunch and head upstream on Sfantu Gheorghe branch. Farewell dinner on board the floating hotel. Day 3: Tulcea (Murighiol) – Bucharest After the early breakfast the fishermen can go on the lakes, while the floating hotel will sail upstream towards Murighiol, the final destination of our journey. Leave Bucharest in our way to the north region of Romania – Bucovina, the land of painted monasteries and traditions. There is about 8 hours drive time until our destination. Day 2: Gura Humorului – Moldovita – Sucevita – Putna – Gura Humorului Breakfast early in the morning. Today we’ll visit some of the World famous Painted Monasteries - Moldovita (UNESCO): dates back from 1532 and is due to the ruling prince Petru Rares. It has the aspect of a fortress, with imposing towers and high, thick walls. It Is decorated with scenes from the 16th century Moldavian life. You can see here the best preserved frescoes, with fresh and vivid colors. - Sucevita: the last and the most magnificent monastic achievement among the painted monasteries in Bucovina, looks as a real fortress, with towers, buttresses and watch roads. Built in 1581, by one bishop, it was dedicated to the Assumption in 1584. Paintings of the Sucevita monastery were best preserved both on the outside and on the inside (Ladder of Virtue, the last Judgment, the tree of Jesse) - Putna: The beginnings of Putna Monastery, take us back to the year 1466 when, upon the initiative of Stefan cel Mare, a church of impressive dimensions was built on a patch of forest cleared for the purpose. The edifice was erected among 1466 and 1469 and consecrated in 1470. Miniature painters, many embroiderers, icon makers, weavers, silversmiths, sculptors in wood and book-binders toiled on in the quiet atmosphere of the monks' cells at Putna. Day 3: Gura Humorului – Suceava – Gura Humorului Breakfast and continue the visits to the Bucovina County. - Voronet Monastery (UNESCO): founded in 1488 by Stefan cel Mare. The doors of the porch have a Renaissance framing, whereas the stone carvings of the broken arches at the doors and windows belong to the Gothic style. Voronet Monastery had been dubbed the oriental Sistine Chapel , whereas Voronet Blue, a color obtained from lapis lazuli, entered in the lexicon of art alongside Titian red and Veronese green, and to this day has yet to be reproduced by natural means. - Humor (UNESCO): dates from 1530, this monastery was among the first churches to be painted, the frescoes were painted in 1535. Humor is painted in reddish brown (from oriental madder pigment), colors are brilliant and truthful to nature. Than go to Suceava, the former capital of Moldova in medieval ages. Here we visit Suceava Citadel, which was built during the rule of the Prince Petru I Musat (1375-1391), having 10 m high and 2 m thick defense walls and a defense tower in every corner, the entrance into the citadel being realized by crossing a bridge with piers. Here died Stefan cel Mare. End the day back in Voronet or Gura Humorului. Accomodation at Vornet at Casa Elena Complex 4* or similar. Day 4: Gura Humorului – Neamt – Bucuresti Breakfast early in the morning. Leave the Bucovina area and we are going on the route to visit the Neamt Citadel, one of the oldest and most important medieval fortresses from Romania. The citadel was built in 14 t h century on a high cliff assuring a perfect defensive location. Recently restored the Neamt Citadel present to its visitors the old defensive system and an interesting medieval collection. In the afternoon arrive in Bucharest.
