Dear Sir/Madam; Our son, (add Name), no longer receives vaccinations based on genuine and sincere religious as well as personal beliefs. New York State Law allows for the exemption from immunization for “children whose parent, parents, or guardians are bona fide members of a recognized religious organization whose teachings are contrary to the practices herein required.” This exemption was clarified and expanded by a 1987 ruling by Judge Leonard Wexler of the U. S. District Court, Eastern District of NY in which he stated that the working “recognized religious organization” was unconstitutional. Judge Wexler found that the recognized organization violated both the establishment and free exercise clause of the first amendment of the U. S. Constitution. NY State Law affords exemption based upon religious beliefs, regardless of affiliation with an organized church or temple. We believe that focusing upon disease manifests disease. Focusing on life manifests life. Medication taken in expectation of disease creates disease. Life begets life, and health begets health. Immunization focuses on disease and is contrary to God’s way. In keeping with our personal beliefs that we religiously adhere to, further subjection of our child’s body to inoculation of disease would be a violation of my trust in God. If you have further questions regarding my religious beliefs pertaining to vaccination, then please address us in writing. Thank you for your kind consideration. Sincerely Yours,
