Prospects and Challenges of Animal Production in Developing Countries in the 21 st
Century and attended by not less than 300 participants, and based on the decision during the meeting of
International Representative Steering Committee, hence, it will be held the The 2 nd
Animal
Production International Seminar (2 nd APIS) on August 31-September 1, 2013 in Malang,
Indonesia with the theme of Sustainable Livestock Production Based on Local Resources in the Global Climate Changes Era: Prospects and Challenges.
Sustainable development is never ending processes and may result the most promising outputs for either the present or the future life. This has been globally interesting issue since the environmentally failure of green revolution in agriculture and other developments, which has resulted in environmental degradation and global climate change (global warming).
It is well known that livestock production has very important roles for human life as well as environment. Livestock provides income for mostly small farmers in the villages and industries and supplies high quality foods for human. Livestock also functions as traction, fertilizer, investment or saving, social prides, wool, and fur. However, livestock production has also been debated for its contribution to the global climate changes. On the other hand, livestock production has been also hampered by environmental degradation and global climate changes.
In respects of this never ending processes of sustainable developments, thus it is our great honors and pleasures to invite scientist, practitioners, decision maker as well as industries to attend The
2 nd Animal Production International Seminar (2 nd APIS) on August 31-September 1, 2013 with the theme of Sustainable Livestock Production Based on Local Resources in the
Global Climate Changes Era: Prospects and Challenges . This will be held in the exotic tourism and educational city of Malang, East Java Province, Indonesia. Malang or its surrounding areas are also as livestock production center where small, medium, and large scale of livestock production and industries are present including dairy cattle, beef cattle, goat, sheep, pigs and poultry.
The seminar is supposed to be as an opportunity for the participants to exchange and discuss the newest information on animal science and technology for improving the prospects and copping the challenges in animal production for its sustainable development. In addition, the seminar will be as a site in establishing and refreshing contacts among animal scientist as well as practitioners for development of sustainable animal production.
We strongly expect your active support and participation for the success of the seminar. Finally, we are looking forward to seeing you in the most interesting city of Malang and enjoying our wonderful traditions, cultures, cuisines, and sceneries.

Bromo, Tengger, and Semeru volcanoes complex technical tour, where the participant can enjoy the beautifulness of the volcanoes
complex, climbing to the top of Bromo volcano, enjoying beautiful sun-rising, and exploring savanna.
Visiting traditional Tengger tribe, their cultures and farms.

TRANSPORT
To Malang:
There are several options to get in Malang.
1. International flights to Jakarta or Denpasar (Bali) International Airport and then domestic flights to Surabaya International Airport or Malang Domestic Airport (many flights a day, approximately 1,5 hours). From Surabaya International Airport by taxi or chartered car to
Malang (2-3 hours) passing through Lapindo Mud.
In Malang:
1. The participants can take public transports called as "angkot or mikrolet", that is a blue van that you can pick it up at any places. It will take you to many places around the city. It charges you a fixed cost of Rp 2.500,00 per trip ( 2.5 US $).
2. Or the participants can take a private taxi equipped with a charge counter that is a sedan car that the participants can also pick it up at any places or order by phone. It will take you to many places around the city. The charge is Rp. 3.000,00 per km.
