Graduated in Social Comunications with emphasis in Journalism by Catholic University of Minas
Gerais, actually I work as prefessional video editor through approximately four years. In parallel I work –
as producer and developer – in digital projects with internet and live images.
My experience with digital media started when I worked as a video editor in a advertising
company (2000) making comercial and institutional videos. One year later I started a research to develop
and produce websites. In this area of work, internet, I learned important things about information
organization, interactivity and how the web can be an important vehicle for other mediatic languages.
During these researches I developed a website, called DieselRadio (2001 – 2003), that objectivates to
publish the brazilian independent musical production, disponibilizing music and video files for download
from artists and bands. Live performances were recorded in video format then disponibilized in the
website, it had an audio stream to transmit musics of bands and artists involved with the project. After
some time the maintenence of the website became very expensive, because the project was a
independent work, no material or financial support to pay the people involved, so all the project stopped
and nowadays are totally deactivated.
In 2002 I directed, produced and edited another independent work: “Special Indoor Offer”, a
music video from Multisofá band (Belo Horizonte – Brazil). The video was released in a theater, Juvenal
Dias room, part of Palácio das Artes complex, and was distributed as an extra inside the band cd. This
video can be watched in the MTV-Brasil website (http://mtv.terra.com.br/banda_antes/). Later a edited
more two other videos “00:48” and “Snow”, musics of the independent band, Tênis (Belo Horizonte
�Brazil). Both of them were distributed in the cd of the band (2004).
During the year of 2005, I worked as direction assistant for the brazilian video artist Eder Santos,
assisting the prodution work and editing videos for many expositions, instalations and performances of
the artist. As principal works that I was in, I can list: an event in memory of Tancredo Neves, the first
elected president of Brazil after military dictatoship government; The Last Soup, an video part of the The
Island exposition; video edition for the video instalation Arrested Distortions; video edition for the
performance Engrenagem, made during the Video Brasil festival; video edition and prodution of the video
instalation Huelga (Lima – Peru).
Together with the plastic artist Fernando Rabelo, we created an artist collective, called TRETA.
Our objective with this collective is explore audio and video storytellings through live presentations of Djs
and Vjs. The TRETA Collective made some presentations in Belo Horizonte bars, caffes, clubs and
parties. The Colectives was invite to participate in a great festival that will put together lot of lcal artists
that work with audiovusuals performances too.
