EDUCATION
2000-2003 Edinburgh University
1994-1999 Eton College, Windsor (Scholar)
University Degree
MA French and German (2:1)
 The course covered translating, literature and essay writing, all of which helped my writing and analytical
skills, while the conversational classes and language presentations not only increased my confidence in
speaking foreign languages but also gave me valuable experience in public speaking. I spent the third
year of my degree abroad, studying Lettres Modernes at the Sorbonne in Paris and a range of courses
at Berlin’s Technische Universität. During this year I enjoyed the cultural side of French and German life
and improved my fluency in both languages. I won the University Prize in German during my first and
second years and was offered an award by the German Consulate in Edinburgh.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
eCapital Connect (www.ecapitalconnect.co.uk)
January 2006 - Present
 I set up my own online business loan introduction service, aimed to streamline the borrowing process for the
borrower, banks and brokers. This company is still under development and not yet live, although we have
spent most of this year in discussions with brokers, trying to find out what would be most beneficial to all
parties involved.

Angel Investment Netz (www.angelinvestmentnetz.de)
August 2005 - Present
 In August 2005 I started running my own online angel investment company. The business was already
running in the UK, Canada and the US, and I was responsible for setting up the company in France,
Germany, Australia and Brazil. I translated the French and German websites into English and have since
been in charge of the day-to-day running of the company.
Medsight International
July 2004 - Present
 While working as a freelance translator I did several projects for this pharmaceutical/medical market
research company. This involved listening to recorded interviews of doctors, pharmacists and patients,
identifying trends and patterns in the interview material and collating the data accordingly. I also wrote
several reports, which involved pooling the results from each country involved in the study, and then writing
the final report, which was then sent out directly to the client.

Chartfield Avenue Medical Surgery
June 2003 – August 2003
 I worked as a clerk at a medical surgery in Putney, which involved filing and organizing the patients’ notes,
entering data into the computer system, cataloguing the sizeable library into an Excel spreadsheet and
dealing with any of the patients’ requests.
Phizz Rx
August 1999 – March 2000
 I worked as a research analyst for this management consultancy firm, which specialised in the
pharmaceutical industry. I collected information from the internet, daily press, industry magazines and the
British Library for the consultants to use in presentations. I was also responsible for booking flights and
hotels for both employees and clients. Several of our clients were based in Europe, which allowed me to
use my French and German skills.

OTHER INTERESTS
 My main passion is sport: I play football for several teams in London, play tennis regularly and have reached
a competitive level at skiing. While at Edinburgh University I helped organise a football match against
Glasgow University, which was designed to increase awareness of studying German in Britain, and
managed to get Berti Vogts and the German Consul to attend. I am also a very keen traveller and have
made trips around Europe, South East Asia, South America, Africa and Central America. I spent 7 months in
Latin America in 2005, where I learnt Spanish to a high conversational level. On my travels I have gained
my Advanced Open Water PADI Scuba Diving qualification, and have visited some of the most famous dive
sites in the world. Also being a very keen motorist, I have done road trips around Britain and Europe and
have completed a rally-driving course at Brands Hatch.
