The McGill Alumni Association Student Sponsorship Program
The McGill Alumni Association is pleased to offer sponsorship money to McGill students
and McGill student groups for special projects of a cultural, athletic or educational nature.
These sponsorships are given to individuals or groups for projects which enhance the
richness of the McGill student experience and bring recognition to the University.
Available funds vary from year to year. Grants vary according to the number and
demonstrated need of applicants. The McGill Alumni Association reserves the right to reject
any and all applications.
A committee will review each application individually and assess them accordingly. You will
be notified when your application has been processed.
Questions? Please contact the Alumni Services Associate at 514-398-3148 or
studentprograms.dev@mcgill.ca.
Funding Requirements:
a) Applicants must be registered full- or part-time McGill students.
b) Groups must be officially recognized through a faculty, department, or the Student
Society of McGill University (SSMU).
c) Projects must be student run for the benefit of all McGill students and cannot be
explicitly political in nature.
d) Requested funds should be beyond the means of the general operating budget of the
group.
e) Please note, due to a high demand for sponsorship of student projects, the Alumni
Association is currently unable to fund self-initiated individual off-campus projects.
f) Please submit applications eight (8) weeks prior to your event or project to
studentprogram.dev@mcgill.ca.
Funding Conditions:
a) All student groups or clubs receiving McGill Alumni Association support should include
the Alumni Association logo on printed material, project websites and lists of
contributors.
b) Please note that a new condition of funding is for student clubs/groups benefiting from
the Student Sponsorship Program to commit to participating in a winter semester
Volunteer Day, hosted by the McGill Alumni Association. We expect that student
groups, clubs or teams will make sure that at least one representative of their club will
attend Volunteer Day.
