The following agreement is between Kenneth Yates hereafter referred to as “Seller” and
______________________ hereafter referred to as “Buyer”. This contract is a binding agreement between
Seller and Buyer for stud services for the bitch:

Buyer certifies that said bitch is in good breeding health as evidenced by an updated veterinary examination
which should include the following items: (1) current cytology indicating the stage of her estrus cycle, and
whether or not any bacterial diseases are present in the vagina that may cause venereal diseases or
compromise her ability to conceive. (2) current vaccinations (3) any other relevant medical information.
Article 2. Buyers Obligations
 Before fresh semen is shipped, make sure bitch is in estrous. This is best done with regular
progesterone assays done from the onset of heat until the tests show the bitch is in estrous.
 Inform the seller by phone, email or fax when the bitch is to be inseminated so as to allow for
accurate, prompt collection and delivery of semen,
 Arrange for payment or reimburse seller at the time of shipment for all expenses incurred for next
day air shipping of the fresh or frozen semen.
 Buyer warrants that this bitch has not been exposed to any stud dog prior to insemination and
further agrees to protect her for the completion of her heat cycle, from any other stud dog(s).
 Buyer agrees to provide proper care for bitch while in whelp and proper care and socialization for
the resulting puppies until they are placed in permanent homes.
 Buyer agrees to sell all puppies with reasonable contracts and health guarantees thus protecting the
progeny from irresponsible breeding practices.
 Buyer agrees to sell all Non-Breeding Companion (PET) quality puppies on LIMITED AKC
registration, with a spay/neuter requirement.
 Buyer agrees to register all pups resulting from this breeding with the AKC.
 Buyer agrees to provide Seller with the name, address and phone number of the owners of all pups
resulting from this breeding,
 Buyer will provide seller with a copy of the bitch’s pedigree, AKC registration and health
clearances.
Article 3– Seller’s Obligations
 Seller will provide pedigree, AKC registration, and health clearance documentation and other
related documentation relating to the Stud dog as requested by Buyer.
 Seller will assist where necessary with the placement of puppies resulting from this breeding into
responsible homes.
 Seller will sign the AKC litter registration papers once buyer and seller satisfactorily fulfill all
monetary reparations and conditions of this contract.
Article 4 – Stud Services
 Seller will arrange for a qualified veterinarian/storage facility to ship three straws of collected
semen.
 All semen will be inseminated into one bitch resulting in one litter.
 Only one litter registration will be signed by stud owner. Any excess semen will be destroyed.
 Seller will arrange shipping times in accordance with Buyers instructions.
 Seller will ship semen in a manner so that semen is in transit for as short a time as possible. It is
understood that on weekends or holidays, special shipping arrangements may be necessary as
regular shipping schedules may not be available.
 Buyer will be responsible for all costs of rental and shipping of tank containing frozen semen and
will pay those amounts directly to the storage facility.
Article 5 – Stud fee and payment schedule
 The stud fee for a litter of three or more live puppies at five weeks is the greater of the equivalent
price the buyer is asking for a show/breed prospect puppy from the resulting litter or a minimum
fee of $1500
 For litters of two or less puppies the stud fee is $500 per live puppy whelped.
 Buyer will pay the seller the balance of the stud fee within nine weeks of the date of whelping.
Seller will sign litter registration papers once entire stud fee/any additional expenses relating to
semen delivery have been received.
Option of Stud fee puppy
 Should Seller wish to have the option of a second pick puppy (of Sellers choice) in lieu of a stud
fee, seller will notify buyer before the breeding takes place.
 Seller will choose second pick puppy before the litter is nine weeks old.
 Should seller opt for a second pick puppy in lieu of a stud fee, seller reserves the right to include
sellers kennel name in registered name of puppy. Sellers kennel name will be listed after buyers
kennel name in registered name of puppy.
 Seller agrees to abide by the litter theme selected by the buyer.
Failure to Conceive
Under no circumstances will there be a return service or a refund of stud fee unless stud dog owner is
provided with veterinary certification that the semen was not viable. In such a case, stud dog owner will
refund the stud fee, but will bear no responsibility for any other costs.
Signatures of Acceptance
The above agreement is made and signed this _______day of ____________ 20___ to assure the well being
of the animals involved and their progeny. This contract shall be deemed a legally binding contract. I have
read this contract, understand its complete contents and agree to adhere to all of the terms outlined herein:
