In the past newsletter, we outlined some changes coming to trash collection in Provincia Villas. Because of conversations with San Antonio Solid Waste
Management and our residents, the schedule and details of delivery have changed. Here is the schedule and procedure for our switch over to automated garbage collections.
For the week of June 22 nd and June 30 th , we will have regular, manual collections. Please place recycling bins and garbage cans out as you usually would.
On July 6 th , City of San Antonio will deliver 2 garbage bins to your home.
You will receive one (1) blue 48 gallon recycling cart and one (1) brown
48 gallon garbage cart . Inside your carts, you will see a serial number.
Please take a second, write them down, and email the serial numbers to sjackson210@yahoo.com. This will allow you to register your carts with the city and they will replace carts that are damaged or stolen at no cost to you.
On Tuesdays, you will place your blue cart out for recycling collection.
Tuesdays are for recycling ONLY. There is NO garbage collection on
Tuesday.
All recycled items must be loose inside the cart.
On Fridays, you will place your brown cart out for garbage collection.
Fridays are for garbage ONLY. Friday is the only day garbage will be collected.
All garbage must be bagged inside the cart. Garbage that is put out and not placed in your cart will NOT be picked up.
Your carts must be placed on the curb of the street. Carts must be spaced out enough for the mechanical claw to grab it, about 3-4 feet apart.
Once garbage has been collected you MUST store your carts either in your garage or in your backyard. It is a violation of policy to have any garbage receptacle visible either on your porch, behind your garage.

Additionally, you have already received a small blue recycling waste basket.
These baskets are intended for use inside your home only.
The city provided these in hopes that it would make recycling easier for everyone and encourage those who do not recycle to start. The small blue waste baskets are NOT to be placed outside on collection days.
We understand that anytime there are changes we will experience some growing pains. When we started with the new landscaping company, it took some time to work out kinks and for them to get to know the neighborhood a little better. It will be the same with automated garbage collection. Let’s all do the best we can to make this adjustment with the understanding that it might take a little time to work out any problems that may arise.
The board has established a good relationship with the San Antonio Solid
Waste Management Department and they are willing to help us make this transition as smooth as possible. I appreciate all of your patience and we will do the best we can to serve not only Provincia Villas as a whole, but each and every one of you.
