3Com Phone licenses and Hewlett Packard Chassis Upgrade Licenses
3Com NBX Phone licenses, which are now sold as Hewlett Packard JD model licenses,
are available until July 2012. That’s correct… there is still time to get the licenses you
need for 3Com Voice Mail, (3C10326 & 3C10327), 3Com Desk Sets, 3Com Conference
phones (IP 3000), 3Com PCX soft phones, 3Com Virtual Tie Lines (3C10388), and
3Com Memory Upgrades (3C10245), as well as advances in software up to3Com
Software Version 6.5 (3C10503). Please call us at 1 800 544 0059 to purchase these

The NBX Group has access to these 3Com licenses, as we remain fully certified in the
product lines. 3Com phone licenses come in several levels. If you wish to add a 3Com
model 3100 phone set (3C10399), you will need a 3Com Group 1 license (3C104011 or
HP number JD758AAE), which is very reasonable at under $90.
If you wish to add a 3Com 3101 phone (3C10401), or a 3Com 3101B Speakerphone,
(3C10401spkrb), you will need a 3Com Group 2 license. The Group 2 license is 3Com
number 3C10412 or HP number JD759AAE. 3Com Group 2 licenses run about $120
each.
For the 3Com 3102 A (3C10402A) or 3Com 3102 B (3C10402B) phone set, you will also
need a 3Com Group 2 License (3C10412), for each.
The 3Com 3103 (3C10403) Manager’s Phone requires a Group 2 license, as do all the
3Com 3106 (3C10406), the 3Com 3107 (3C10407), and the 3Com 3108 (3C10408),
wireless phones. Each wireless phone, from 3com, requires a Group 2 license.
The last version of the 3Com Phone System Desk Sets, are the 3Com 3502 (3C10502)
and the 3Com 3503 (3C10503). These are the latest standard desk set, and the Manager’s
Phone, for use on the NBX and the VCX systems. They also require a 3Com Group 2
license, (3Com 3C10412) for each.
These 3Com phones, the 1102, 2101, 2102, 3101,3102, 3103, 3502,& 3503, are all
available through the NBXGroup. Call us at 1 800 544 0059 to get both the licenses, and
the phones, in the quantities you need.
Virtual Tie Line Licenses (3C10388), or HP number JD741AAE, 2 required per
conversation, are available at $1400 per pair. This license allows two 3Com or HP
chassis to act as one unit, although located in different states, or countries.
As for the 3Com Voice Mail licenses, the (3C10326) 8 port license, and the 20 port
license (3C10327), are available as well. The Voice mail comes in these two upgrade
sizes, for the V3000 chassis, (3C10420), The V3001 chassis, (3CR10800A) or HP
number JD791AAE, the V5000 chassis, (3C10200) & the V3001R chassis (3C10602A).
The 3Com PCX set soft phone license, (3C10316) or HP number JD734AAE, runs $139.
The Polycom, 3Com, IP 3000 Conference Phone, requires a Polycom Operating License
3Com (3C10282) or HP number JD 728 JAE, is under $100.
The 3Com “IP-on-the–Fly” License, HP number JD70AAE, allows remote access, and is

3Com Memory Upgrades are licensed as well, and are available as 3C10245 in the order
number and this kit expands a 256MB to a 512MB memory capacity in the V3000
chassis, (3C10420), the V3001 Chassis, (3CR10800A) or HP number JD 791 AAE , the
V3001R Chassis(3C10602A).and the V5000 Chassis (3C10200).
3Com Group 5 licenses are also available for the integration of the 3Com 3105 attendant

3Com Software upgrade licenses are available from 5.xx to 6.xx and are numbered
3C10503 or HP number JD780AAE. They are available in the $900 range. This license
will allow the user to move without cost to the 6.5 SIP protocol, if desired. It will also
allow the user to remain in the H.323 user mode, if the user has other systems using that
protocol.
