Floor Door with Safety Net Roof Hatch with Safety Net Overview: A rail mounted safety net system is designed to be installed in all types of floor and roof hatch opening to reduce risks associated with fall-throughs. The safety net system provides protection during the initial opening of the hatch and maintains protection after access has been gained. The safety net easily slides on guide rails to facilitate entry and then repositioned to prevent fall through. This system also provide excellent fall through protection while a floor door or other opening if left uncovered, and while a worker is below. Limitations: The safety net system after installation should be maintained in the closed position after each use. The safety net is a fall protection system. At no time is the net to be used as a work platform, lifting mechanism, tool holder, tie off point, or to attach any other equipment to it. The following are general instructions for installing and maintaining safety nets. These are recommended general guidelines only. Locally accepted installation practices and procedures should be followed to ensure a safe system that meets all local code requirements, including OSHA and IBC requirements. Set Up/Unpack/Preparation: Verify that all products listed on the packaging slip are included in the package. Check the products for damage. If products are damaged, report a freight claim immediately and leave the products in their packaging. If you sign for products without reporting damage, you waive the right to a freight claim and will be responsible for replacement cost. Read the instructions thoroughly before beginning installation. Installation: The safety Net safey system can be installed on any standard aluminum or steel floor door, roof hatch or custom sized framed opening. The safety net safety system is factory assembled and ready for installation. At no time is the installer to supply fastening hardware. Measure in 3” from both ends to the slide rail and drill a 9/16” hole 7/8” from the top. Equally space the remaining holes using the rail hole spacing below. Place and clamp safety net system in opening. Using the already drilled holes as a guide, drill ½” holes in the concrete to a minimum depth of 2-1/4”. Back the nut off the anchor until it is flush with the end of the threads. Tap the anchor into the hole until the washer is flush with the slide rail. Set the anchor by tightening the nut. Repeat process for all remaining holes. Install “Caution” label to the underside of the door. RETRO-FIT INSTALLATION / INSTALLATION TO FRAMES WITH NUTS & BOLTS Drainable Frames for Floor Doors. (Roof Hatch Curbs recommended installation at factory.) 1. Place and clamp safety net system in opening. 2. Measure in 3” from both ends and drill a 9/16” hole, 7/8” from the top through the rail and the drainable channel. 3. Equally space the remaining holes using the rail hole spacing. 4. Bolt the rails to the drainable channel using provided stainless steel hardware 5. Maintenance: The safety net system should be inspected semi-annually by owner. The netting should be inspected for visible decay, fraying, tears or ripped stitches. The hardware should be inspected for damage, broken or bent pierces, corrosion or missing pieces. Warranty: The safety net is warranted for a period of five(5) years against defects in material and workmanship. Any modification to the system voids the manufacturer’s warranty.
