Resolution: Set The GL period to the period depreciation is being run for or the GL constants can be changed to allow prior period posting. Option Date Answer: Probable Issue: Processing option compute date is prior to modified asset depreciation start date. Resolution: If applicable, set the processing option to a point in time after the asset start date. Otherwise, this flag alerts the user that the modified start date has yet to occur, which may be perfectly desirable. Review the depreciation information column associated with an affected asset; a specific "convention" may be in place such as mid-year. Should this be the case, then the program will not initiate depreciation until period seven of the initial fiscal year - see start date, and therefore representing a desired modified start date.] Back to Top Submit Feedback Question 4 - Error # 070S / Life Year Invalid Answer: Probable Issue: The life year rule couldn't be located for the depreciation rule. Resolution: Extend the depreciation rule into the following year(s) in depreciation rule revisions "Life Thru" column. Resolution: In the depreciation rule revisions for the associated depreciation method, review / change the specific field under the "conventions" tab if applicable. Resolution: If appropriate, run the compute program in final mode. This will automatically populate the Fixed Asset balances file for report review. Probable Issue: First time compute for the method of depreciation. Resolution: Ensure that special handling code in User Defined Code 12/DM is set to '1' for new and current depreciation methods. Probable Issue: Computing depreciation for the first time in the new fiscal year. Resolution: Complete the annual close program (R12825 - Asset Account Balance Close) for the previous FY. The system has no balances in the current year in which to base a calculation. Answer: Probable Issue: User may be comparing the World product P12850 program to the OneWorld® P12855 UDD calculation. Resolution: The One World program calculates on a catch up mode over the course of the current fiscal year, completing in the final period.
