#02 – CETINJE
National Art Gallery // Miodrag Dado Đurić
After the success of the first stage, still in progress in Tirana at the Piramida until August 24th,
2014, the City of Cetinje is going to welcome the second of the five stages of the contemporary art
exhibition "ART IN PORT - Coexistence: for a new Adriatic Koine". It will open in Montenegro, at
the National Art Gallery - Miodrag Dado Đurić of Cetinje on 5th September at 8pm and will
involve artists from the five partner countries of the exhibition: Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy
(Veneto and Apulia). Next stage will be displayed in Rijeka, in Croatia, Venice and Polignano a
Mare in Italy, until March 2015.
Working together to give voice to art, to multiply its visions, to create a narration with many voices,
connected together into a large Adriatic and transmedia network.
The exhibition is part of the project "arTVision. A live art channel" funded by the European IPA
Adriatic CBC Programme 2007/2013, with the purpose to activate and connect the creative energy
of young artists invited to participate as protagonists.
It is an experimental project, led by Puglia Region - Area Policies for the Promotion of Territory,
Knowledge and Talent, which involves: Pino Pascali Foundation Museum of Contemporary Art;
Veneto Region - Direction of cultural and performance activities; Academy of Fine Arts of Venice;
Ministry of Culture of Montenegro; Faculty of Dramatic Arts of Cetinje – Montenegro; Ministry of
Culture of Albania; University of Arts of Tirana - Albania; Primorje-Gorski Kotar County –
Croatia; Kanal RI - Croatia.
The core idea is to establish a strict dialogue among cross-border Nations through a set of cultural
actions, aimed at finding out commonalities and discontinuities among peoples sharing the Mare
Nostrum of the Adriatic Mediterranean.
One exhibition and five versions of it, in different locations and territories, to state the concept of a
new linguistic Koinè, capable of translating territorial identities into the dynamics of relationship,
open-mindedness
and
comparison.
