Notify file clerk to create new subdivision/site file. Provide needed data. General Items ____ 1. Scale 1” = 100’, if less than (or equal to) 1 acre then 1” = 25’. ____ 2. Ensure site/subdivision can be easily located from plan (e.g. vicinity map/existing street names). ____ 3. Check for erosion and sediment control measures and narrative in accordance with Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook when applicable (i.e., disturbed land area Is equal to or greater than 10,000 square feet/2,500 square feet in CBPA). Ensure adjacent or upstream property drainage is not being blocked. ____ b. Check for roadside ditches that may require piping with the construction entrance. ____ c. Determine if roadside ditches drain through property. ____ 5. Construction entrances located at all proposed entrances. ____ 6. Check for detail sheet or standards designated in accordance with the Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Handbook. ____ 7. Perimeter control satisfactory. ____ 8. Inlet protection, temporary sediment traps and temporary sediment basin, satisfactory. ____ a. For drainage areas one acre or less – inlet protection per E & S Handbook 3.07. ____ b. For drainage areas one to three acres temporary sediment trap per E & S Handbook 3.13. ____ c. For drainage areas greater than three acres – temporary sediment basin – total storage = 134 cubic yards per acre (1/ 2 wet, 1/ 2 dry) per E & S Handbook 3.14. ____ 9. If there are ditches through the site that drain upstream areas, ensure that plans include a note stating that ditches are to remain open until provisions are made to accommodate upstream drainage. If a detention lake is shown on the plan, ensure the master drainage plan for the development has been approved before approving excavation of the lake. If E & S approval does not include lake excavation, there should be a note on the plans and a condition in the approval letter stating that the approval does not include lake excavation.
