COAST CITIES AND CRUISING There was quite an array of events scheduled during the week of October 5-12, which is the annual event known as “Cruising the Coast” America’s largest block party. The County and City Officials in each of the three coastal entities need to pat themselves on the back merely for the welcoming way that each City and County has put out the “welcome mat” to our cruising visitors during the past week and support for the last eighteen years. Good food, historic cars, great music, beautiful weather and scenery, golf, casinos, great hotel accommodations, and good clean fun supported by the wonderful people of the entire Mississippi Gulf Coast. Hopefully, each cruising visitor to our Mississippi Gulf Coast has enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing, and safe experience and will certainly leave here with nothing but positive thoughts and experiences serving as “first-line ambassadors” for the entire Mississippi Gulf Coast and the State of Mississippi. The week of October 5-12 has been another opportunity for each of us to show our visitors just what “True Southern Hospitality and Charm” is all about. Even if we are not directly involved in the hospitality, restaurant, or some other supportive business, we all need to understand that many of us are transplants to our area, and hopefully our patience, kindness, and outright support of the many visitors will have served to let our visitors know just how much they are appreciated and hopefully each will go back home to the 40+ states that are representing and tell their whole state that “ya’ll need to go to Mississippi.” The people of the Mississippi Gulf Coast are the nicest, most polite, accommodating, and greatest people that I have ever experienced, what a compliment! .
