WORLD’S LARGEST ROAD TRIP HEADED TO THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST SUMMER 2015
MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST – The Mississippi Gulf Coast Regional CVB is thrilled to announce The Hot Rod
Power Tour coming for the first time to the Mississippi Gulf Coast June 11, 2015. The public is invited to view the
automobiles at the Centennial Plaza in Gulfport for free between noon and 7p.m.
The Hot Rod Power Tour is the largest road trip in the world with nearly 6,000 of the
finest high-end automobiles traveling to seven cities in just seven days. The 21st
running of the Tour will be from June 6-13, 2015 beginning in Madison, Wisconsin and
ending in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Hot rods, custom trucks, street rods, muscle cars,
and performance machines will cover 1,000 miles of winding roads and highways.
Gearheads ready to cruise are encouraged to join the Long Haul Gang and Hot Rod
staff at any point along the journey. Spectators and car-enthusiasts in each city are free
to experience the scene cruises every night. Local restaurants, hotels, bars, and
nightclubs will play an important role as host to these 10,000+ visitors expected on the
Mississippi Gulf Coast.
“Power Tour started way back in 1995 as a simple event for HOT ROD editors, and it’s been stunning to watch it
grow into the single largest road trip in the world,” said TEN’s Senior Vice President of Content Strategy David
Freiburger. “So big, in fact, that last year’s event showed us that we needed even bigger venues and even more
entertainment for the participants. Our 21st year will be better than ever.”
