Greetings!
February has been a really busy month for ENCSC. Old man winter has tried to hold us down;
but, to no avail. Our times together, with friends old and new, on the dance floor are warmer than ever.
Thanks go out this month to the following “Movers and Shakers” of
Eastern North Carolina Shag Club.
Jeff Harris and Johnny Miller hosted another great event at the Oyster Bar in Williamston.
Judy Everette pulled together a great Valentine’s event at City Hotel. We had a great member
turn out of about 100 people plus 25 guest shaggers. See the handout at the March meeting for
potential member’s list.
ENCSC ladies cooked some sinful sweets for the Valentine’s social. Thanks girls!
Carolyn and Jerry Nichols, Judy McMillen and Donnie “Mac” (Ross) traveled to Danville, Virginia to
attend the ACSC Winter Workshop.
Helen Pase, Brenda Jones, Dan Tew, Alonza Gray, Pat and Gary Newsome, Marti Minges, Julie
and Dave Cistola, Tricia Drew, Ronnie Morris, Eileen and John Daigle, Ronnie Matthews, Sue Hallow,
Mary Waters and Judy Everette traveled to Leland in Brunswick County to help host an open house
event which featured a “shag” theme. Thanks for making this trip…I’ve heard that your efforts were a
major hit! Thanks Helen, for facilitating this fund raiser!!!
Judi and Terry Tucker attended the Walnut Creek Country Club Hospice event in Goldsboro and
was 1 of the 5 remaining reverse drawing recipients of the $5,000 prize! We’re glad that you are one of
us! And, by the way, this couple travels 1 hour and 10 minutes, one way, every Sunday night to go to the
City Hotel. Why? “The people are so nice.” End quote.
Sue Hallow traveled to Robersonville for 8 weeks to teach shag lessons.
Addie Lou Leggett supplied the Valentine decorations for City Hotel.
35 ENCSC members traveled to Memories in Atlantic Beach on Feb. 14th. We were an
impressive crowd out there on the floor!
Cynthia Cox has put together another most impressive newsletter…watch your e-mail and/or
snail mail.
Mary Waters, Pam Herring, Deborah Linton, Brenda Jones, Judy Everette, and Addie Lou and
Robbie Leggett submitted articles to the spring newsletter. You can submit a blurb, too!!!!!
Edna Denton has tirelessly forwarded all ENCSC business e-mail matters. She does such a grand
job of keeping everyone in the loop!
Pam Herring has done a great job of keeping everyone informed via the phone tree.
Mary Waters has been way too busy this month with “thinking of you cards” for our members.
JT Price, Mile Folk, Judy Everette, Dan Tew, Marti Minges, Helen Pase, Cynthia Cox, Edna
Denton, and Addie Lou Leggett have had another Board of Director’s dinner meeting in “The
Barn”. They will report the meeting agenda “Nuts N Bolts” at the March business meeting.
Thought of The Day: A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
Have an awesome day and know that someone has thought about you today... I did .. Unknown
