THICKET OF DIVERSITY All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory Big Thicket National Preserve, Texas Taxonomic Working Inventory Group (TWiG) Application The fundamental work of an All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory is done by Taxonomic Working Groups, or TWiGs. Each is organized around a specific taxonomic or biological group of organisms. A TWiG can be led by an individual, or several collaborating researchers. However, the leader(s) should be an expert(s) in the specified group, or a subgroup, that is being inventoried. TWiGs, and leaders, will be designated by the Science Committee and approved by the Executive Council of the Thicket of Diversity. Application for the formation of a TWIG should be made to the Science Committee as a separate proposal, or in conjunction with a proposal for funding submitted to the Committee in response to a Request for Proposal from the Thicket of Diversity.
