Doctors General Pediatrician: Dr. Janet Nguyen Willowbend Pediatrics 5940 Communications Parkway Plano, Texas 75093 972-403-9355 Dr. Nguyen is young and newly out of medical school, but she knows autism much better than many other doctors who have been in practice for awhile. We were supposed to see a different doctor in the practice who was highly recommended, but she was on leave, so we saw Dr. Nguyen. She was so amazing with my child who is on the spectrum as well as my typical child that we decided to stay with her. She takes her time and is always ready with a referral when needed. She is up-to-date on her research and is always looking to learn more in order to benefit her patients. Also, she is willing to provide refills given by specialists from time to time as long as she is comfortable with the medication and dosage and familiar with the treatment plan. (We have had no issues on this as she has been willing to do that for us as needed.) The office has Saturday appointments, short wait-times, and has always been able to see us on the same day that we call. I've also heard great things about the others in the practice. ________________________________________________________________ Dr. Samuel Foster Allergy Immunology Asthma Southwest Allergy & Asthma Ctr 6101 Windcom Ct Ste 400 Plano TX, 75093-7820 972-398-3500 Dr. Foster has my son's breathing issues in check for the first time in his life. He is young and soft spoken, but after several hospital stays, we needed serious help! We are off the nebulizer for the first time in my son's life and are now slowly scaling down his maintenance medicine as he has not had a wheezing episode in 6 months. He was able to narrow down our issues in the first visit and even called personally to check on how my son was responding to the new protocol given his behavior issues with new meds in the past. _________________________________________________________ www.planopeds.com We LOVE our pediatrician - Dr Ryan McElroy is GREAT! They are really understanding and patient. Sarah - one of the medical assistants - has a brother with Down Syndrome. As a person with management experience - I am very impressed with how the office is run as well - We have never been in the waiting room more that 15 minutes!!! and I did say NEVER. Dr Smith (one of the drs) has an adult brother with Autism. Whenever I need Medical Forms for my son to go to camp or whatever - I fax them over and they are very responsive. That reminds of something you might want to share with other parents - I have discovered in my 18 years of parenting - that if you want a quick fax back with any needed forms - go ahead and fill out ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that YOU can! That way the dr just has to review very quickly the information - give a signature and fax it on back! Dr. Richard Rembecki – Pulmonologist Kids Lungs Frisco Texas (214) 618-5437 Dr. Owen - Nuerologist Dallas Medical City (972) 566-8600 Both doctors are excellent with kids with Autism. They have great interaction with my son.
