B. Skylight manufacturer shall warrant that the skylight system shall be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of ten years. Skylight manufacturer shall warrant glass against seal failure for a period of ten years. Aluminum members shall be extruded aluminum 6005-T5 alloy; non-structural members shall be 6063-T5. 2. System shall be thermally broken throughout. Thermal breaks shall be polyurethane. 3. Color Selection a. All exposed aluminum extrusions shall be finished with electrostatically applied baked PPG Polycron enamel. Finish to meet AAMA specification 603.8. Choose from the manufacturer’s standard colors (bronze or white). b. Or clear anodized Glazing 1. Glass shall consist of insulated glass panels with an overall nominal thickness of 1”. 2. Insulated glass units shall be manufactured in accordance with the standard and procedures outlined by FGMA and IGCC. All glass panels shall carry a manufacturer’s warranty to the Owner that the factory-sealed insulated glass of the product will be free from defects in material for a period of ten years from the date of Substantial Completion. 3. The outboard lite shall consist of 3/16” fully tempered clear glass 4. In overhead glazing, the inboard lite shall consist of ¼” heatstrengthened laminated glass 5. All glass shall be treated with multiple low-emissivity coatings. Recommended coating to be SilverCoat E-140 E-Z CleanTM by Sunshine Rooms, Inc. Fasteners All fasteners shall be stainless steel. Exposed fasteners are not acceptable. Gaskets 1. Gaskets are to be 60-70 durometer Santoprene. 2. Glass setting blocks shall be 90 durometer EDPM. Sealants Sealants shall be 100% silicone to match the color of the exterior frame. Part 3 Execution 3.01 Inspection A. B. C. 3.02 Installation A. B. 3.03 Inspect area to receive skylight to ensure that all conditions are in accordance with specification sheets. Verify that the flashed curb is in accordance with specification sheets. Inspect material upon arrival at the job site for condition and that the quantity of material is in agreement with the packing slip. Install in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions Align unit plumb, level, and flush with the adjacent surfaces. Cleaning and Protection A. B. Glazing should be installed clean. For additional cleaning, follow manufacturer’s cleaning instructions. The General Contractor shall exercise caution to prevent alkaline substances, paint, abrasive, or other substances or objects from damaging the finish or glass during and after the skylight installation.
