Momocon 2015 Closet Costume Contest Rules & Guidelines (See page 2 for Entry Form)
1.
Prizes will be awarded for
Screen Accuracy – A reference photo is required to be eligible for this category.
a. Individual
b. Group (must be from the same series)
c. Duo (must be from the same series)
Spirit of Cosplay - Based on overall poise, presentation, and enthusiasm.
d. Individual
e. Group (must be from the same series)
f. Duo (must be from the same series)
Best Use of a Found Object – Utilizing an item in an unexpected and innovative way in your costume.
g. Individual
Kids (ages 12 and under)
h. 2 Individual awards will be given in this category.

Pre-judging is done on a first-come first-serve basis. Room A-306 (3rd Level). 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm Friday of convention. Line-up
for the Catwalk begins at 7pm Friday of convention. The line-up location is TBD. It will be announced in advance and the
online rules/forms will be updated at that time.

Entrants qualifying for competition must have made less than 60% of their costume.

Groups count as 1 entrant and only need to fill out a single copy of the registration form.

Entrants that bring a reference photo will be entered to compete in the “Screen Accuracy” category. References are, preferably, a
front-side-back color picture printed on 8.5 x 11 paper. Bringing electronic media or video devices to judging will not be accepted.
Entrants without a visual reference will automatically compete in the “Spirit of Cosplay” category.

All entrants are automatically in the running for “Best Use of a Found Object”

Walk-on entries do not need to show up for judging; they can show up at 7 pm to take part in the line-up. The line-up location is TBD

Walk-on entries will need a copy of the Walk-on entry form completely filled out; it is used for announcing names at the
contest.
b. Walk-on entries will be accepted until 8 pm.

A person/group can enter the Saturday Craftsmanship Contest either in a different costume to compete or enter the same as a WalkOn.
9.
Judging is of the contestant(s) in costume. There is no skit/performance portion to judging or the catwalk.
10. All costumes and props must conform to MomoCon’s behavior, safety, and prop weapon policy.
11. Costumes must be self-contained. I.E. props and items not held or worn by the contestant will not count towards the costume.
12. No nudity. No costume is no costume.
13. No profane, political, disruptive, or religious statements during the catwalk. This includes messages on signs or clothes.
14. Do not use any sort of projectile at all! Nothing may leave your person while you are on the catwalk.
15. No flashpots, explosive devices, smoke generators or similar special effects are to be used.
16. Entrants with large elaborate costumes may bring handlers to assist them onto, across, and off the stage. Momocon cannot guarantee
staff on hand to assist all entrants.
17. Contestants will have time to strike three poses for the audience at the catwalk.
18. Violation of the rules may result in disqualification and possible removal from the convention grounds if it is safety related.
19. MomoCon, unfortunately, cannot secure or hold any personal items for contestants who take part in the catwalk. The staff
recommends you leave your bags, merchandise, ID’s, keys, and wallets in a safe place or with a trusted friend beforehand.
