Responsible for all operational aspects of a 24/7 television news video library
for the Washington Bureau of the top rated cable news network, including
direct supervision of a small staff. Achievements include the daily oversight
of cataloging, organizing and retrieval of file video in a fast paced news
environment.
Critically evaluating appropriate material for long-term retention among
Network and Pool coverage of the White House, Congress and Cabinet
agencies activities, feeds from international partners and Fox Affiliate stations
around the country totaling approximately 1000 hours per week of material.
Assisting producers, editors and production staff in identifying good video for
news packages and show elements, often on tight deadlines, for programs
including Special Report with Bret Baier and Fox News Sunday. Performing
additional editorial research as needed
Performing deep archival research for the Documentary Unit and New York
Bureau show units.
Training new staff members to use our databases and finding aids.
Appointed in 2006 to the Fox News “Omega Team” which was a small group
tasked to help develop the RFPs and select a vendor for the Fox News
Digital Media Management technology. This involved identifying our key
metadata and establishing metrics of scale across the company as well as
attending and reviewing demonstrations of proposed technologies in our
New York headquarters and on site at vendor company locations.
Ran the on-site Digital Media Library at the 2008 and 2012 Democratic and
Republlican National Conventions ifor the entire network.
Ran the on-site Tape Library at the 2000 Democratic National Convention in
Los Angeles and Republican National Convention in Philadelphia for the
network.
Primary point person for network video projects involving the Library of
Congress and National Archives and Records Administration.

check in, tracking, lifecycle, and retrieval of archival material.

reproductions of government produced film titles and newsreel stock
footage to support telling the story of the women who came to
Washington during World War II to support the war effort.

Re-release of classic 1953 Cold War “scare” film with added
interviews and features. Located “lost” original film print at NARA of
bonus feature “Red Nightmare” and performed additional research
to locate current contact information for original cast members.
