The coaching staff will make every effort to make you a better tennis player and person. Tennis is a life long sport with benefits ranging from exercise and competition to building positive relationships. We want our players to graduate and continue to play tennis throughout their lives. Varsity Lettering Criteria: All players that have participated in a minimum of 4 varsity matches will letter. Coach’s discretion can be used to letter a player that has not met the minimum requirements. All seniors dedicated and consistently attending practices and matches will also earn a letter, regardless of which team they are on. ***Attendance/Absences: At Fridley tennis we put a very strong emphasis on being at practices and matches if at all possible. If it is completely necessary for a player to miss a practice or a match, the player must give prior notice to a coach with as much advance notice as possible. Failure to inform a coach could lead to sitting out a match as a minimum punishment. Chronic absences will result in a player/coach and possible parent conference to determine if a player should remain on the team or not. ALWAYS COMMUNICATE TO YOUR COACH IF YOU WILL BE ABSENT!!!!!!!!!! Fundraising: Fundraising is a vital component of our program’s success. The money raised will direct benefit each player. Each player will be expected to raise a certain amount of money depending on which team the player is on. Players are responsible for selling our gift cards and returning cash or checks payable to Fridley Tennis. Away Matches: If a player is planning to get a ride home with a parent. The coach needs to be informed prior to that time. Cancellations/Reschedules: If ever in doubt due to weather please contact a coach or Sue Hanson in the high school athletic office: 763 502 5606 (Players, the high school activity white board will inform you of the tennis plans in case of bad weather, never assume practice is cancelled!) Summer Tennis Opportunities: Playing in the off-season is extremely important to the development of your tennis game. More information will come concerning our middle school and high school group lessons and the option of private/semi-private lessons. I have read and agreed to all of the rules/expectations for Fridley Tennis: Player Signature____________________ Parent Signature ______________ (Cut and return this portion to your coach to show compliance.)
