HARDIN COUNTY FARM BUREAU RAY MACKEY SCHOLARSHIP OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Applicant must be a son or daughter of a Hardin County Farm Bureau family and must be in 2nd year of college or more. 2. Receipt of this award shall not preclude the recipient accepting other scholarships or awards. 3. All material, with reference to given applications, should reach Hardin County Farm Bureau, PO Box 1056, Elizabethtown, KY 42702 under single cover. 4. All applications and supporting material must be postmarked no later than April 18. 5. All applications and supporting material of the winner and first and second alternates become the property of the Hardin County Farm Bureau. 6. Recipient must enter college or vocational school no later than the fall semester unless circumstances beyond his or her control, such as serious illness or injury prevent his or her doing so. In such case, recipient must enter college or vocational school by the spring semester. 7. The Hardin County Farm Bureau Scholarship Committee will consider all applications after the April 18th closing date and will make every attempt to notify all contestants of results as soon as possible. 8. The Hardin County Farm Bureau Scholarship Committee reserves the right to make the final decision on all cases that may arise concerning the interpretation of these results. 9. Applicants are judged on the following: scholastic ability, extra-curricular activities, need, leadership qualities, neatness, and sincerity. 10. The scholarship winner is requested to notify Hardin County Farm Bureau of his or her decision not to enter college or vocational school. 11. Hardin County Farm Bureau will give 2 (two) $1000.00 cash scholarships. Scholarship winners will receive $500.00 each semester to the college of their choice. Proof of enrollment is required in order to collect scholarships. This will be available no sooner than 10 days before semester begins. 12. Second semester scholarship payment will be made after receiving a copy of the transcript indicating a minimum of a GPA of 1.8. An appeal to the scholarship committee can be made if the GPA falls short of the recommended level. There will be no discrimination based on sex, age, race, national origin, religion or disability.
